Sharing information, resources and opinions to solve problems.

Organization:

uses information and technology to complete task effectively and share ideas.

Helps manage time and achieve goals.

First and foremost, we found that learning skills are geared toward the classroom environment and academics, while the 21st century competencies provide a holistic approach through transferrable skills. A key difference noticed is that global citizenship was missing from learning skills, as was creativity. Similarities noticed include collaborative development and development of the self.

Involves many different skills that are evident across all the 21st century skills. However, the title for the Ministry document is "Collaboration" vs. "Communication" for the 21st Century skill document. Similarities include: both communicate using a variety of media, voice opinions and advocate for ideas, critical thinking and problem solving, and building/developing meaningful relations with others. The differences include: the title for which it's labeled, 21st century talks about understanding various perspectives and opinions; whereas, the other document refers mainly to the development of pre-existing skills.
