         <description><![CDATA[<div><br><br></div><div>Subject: Dance placement<br><br></div><div><em>&nbsp;<br></em><br></div><div><em>Hi,<br></em><br></div><div><em>I'm currently studying Dance at Kingston university and for my final year I have to complete a minimum of 40 hours on placement (can be a mixture of in person and online) up until March. I am very interested in the performance side of dance. I'm ballet trained but have also danced contemporary, hip hop, jazz and different styles in my dance course. I understand the dance world is somewhat limited as to what is currently allowed by the Covid rules but I wonder whether you would consider having me and complete my placement with your company. The aim of the placement is to find out first-hand how companies are run and to get a taste of what it would be like next year if we are successful in our future plans.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I first made contact with my host via email and then on WhatsApp.&nbsp; Before starting my placement I met up with her to discuss my role during my placement. We discussed me observing and helping out at the beginning with hope of taking a class with the younger children and attending their adult classes. Whilst observing and helping out I was able to ask questions and write notes on the running of the dance academy.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Due to Covid and further restrictions I was unable to take part in many classes and was unaware that the numbers in the studio was very tight as they were rehearsing for an upcoming competition. Here I felt there was a lack of communication between us.&nbsp; I noticed that my host takes very long to answer her emails and WhatsApp messages and catches up during the weekend. I emailed my host with the questions I would have asked in person but I am still awaiting a reply. This has set me back considerably and I am thinking of giving her a call to either discuss these questions or at the very least ask whether she has received my email. Although my host is quite young I do feel intimidated and my communication has suffered because of this as I don't want to come across as being pushy. However,&nbsp; I do fear that my host is not comfortable giving out certain information as there is great competition amongst the different dance schools in Gibraltar.</div>]]></description>
