         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Fact #1: </em></strong>Nuclear power is electricity made by splitting atoms.<br><br><strong><em>Fact #2: </em></strong>The first commercial power stations started operating in the 1950s.&nbsp; <br><br><strong><em>Fact #3:</em></strong> It creates radioactive waste.<br><br><strong><em>Fact #4: </em></strong>It was first developed in the 1940s. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #5:</em></strong> Over 50 countries use it in about 220 research reactors.<br><br><strong><em>Fact #6:</em></strong> In 2018: 10% of the world electricity was made by nuclear power. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #7:</em></strong> It can create a lot of electricity.&nbsp; <br><br><strong><em>Fact #8:</em></strong> France gets around 3/4 of it's energy from nuclear energy.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Wind Power</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Fact #1: </em></strong>&nbsp;To make wind power into electricity, you use the wind to turn turbines to create electricity. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #2:</em></strong> A good example of wind power is the sails on sailboats. The wind pushes the sail which moves the boat.<br><br><strong><em>Fact #3:</em></strong> A wind turbine can have as many as 8000 different parts.<br><br><strong><em>Fact #4:</em></strong> It doesn't create any greenhouse gases.<br><br><strong><em>Fact #5: </em></strong>It isn't very efficient. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #6:</em></strong> Offshore wind turbines could make up to 4 times more electricity than the US electrical grid can handle. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #7:</em></strong> An early use of wind power was in windmills to crush grain or pump water. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #8:</em></strong> Wind turbines are being built taller so they can reach the faster winds higher in the atmosphere. The faster the wind, the more energy can be produced.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Oil and Petroleum</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Fact #1:</em></strong> They are both fossil fuels burned to make energy we can use. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #2:</em></strong> Petroleum is also known as crude oil. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #3:</em></strong> Oil is used for heating and transportation, such as fuel for vehicles. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #4:</em></strong> If the oil goes somewhere it shouldn't (oil spills), it can be very harmful to the environment. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #5:</em></strong> Petroleum is formed from marine organisms that died, and then were turned into fossil fuels after millions of years of heat and pressure.&nbsp; <br><br><strong><em>Fact #6: </em></strong>Petroleum and oil can be used for a variety of things. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #7:</em></strong> Refining petroleum is the process of turning it into other into useful products. It also gets rid of impurities like sand. It's a nonrenewable resource.<br><br><strong><em>Fact #8:</em></strong> We've been using petroleum for a while, but it didn't become a big source of energy until the Industrial Revolution.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Fact #1:</em></strong> Biomass is organic material that comes from plants/animals. It contains chemical energy from the sun, and you can turn biomass into electricity. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #2: </em></strong>Wood and crops can be used. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #3:</em></strong> Using wood for fire is an example of biomass. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #4: </em></strong>It was the largest source of energy in America until the mid-1800s. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #5: </em></strong>It is the only renewable energy source that can be turned into fuel for cars like ethanol. <br><br><strong><em>Fact #6: </em></strong>It creates greenhouse gases when it's burned.<br><br><strong><em>Fact #7: </em></strong>To make charcoal from biomass, you use a process called pyrolysis (heat it without any oxygen around).<br><br><strong><em>Fact #8: </em></strong>Pyrolysis also creates biochar, a material used in agriculture.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
