 I learned so much about the business side of music and opera! You were very informative for me and I think will be very beneficial to me in the future! I will definitely take the idea that we are our products and brand and like a small business. It really formed how I perceive the being a full time singer. Though I am still not sure (in the time of Covid) where I want to go and where my career will take me, I feel much more secure and informed about the industry and it's ins and outs if I do chose to pursue singing as a career. Regardless, you taught many things about branding and managing a business that are applicable to every field.

For many in our class it may have been their first exposure to resumes and cover letters, but for me it was still quite helpful because there's such a marked difference between the resumes and cover letters I'm used to writing and the ones we need for music careers.  I also appreciate you giving me feedback on my bio and also on my resume.  I hope we cross paths again.

I did not know what was expected on an opera resume and all that goes into it to keep in line with standard and to best represent yourself. 

After Cindys sessions I feel I know the exact path(s) I should and can take once I graduate. Having a better understanding of the business side is motivating to become a better artist as well by own marketer. 

Cindys sessions have absolutely impacted how I want to use my time at SJSU inside and outside of school.

Thank you so much Cindy!!! You shared the vital steps needed to move into a professional career and the important information to consider well in school and as a young artist. I’m so appreciative for your sessions for they answered all of the questions I had that I thought would take me YEARS to get answered.

Saving and investing money is not touched on in school a lot, but it was relieving to hear you say it without the sugar coating. I appreciate your time and candor!
