External Proof are proofs that are created by the speaker. 

There are 3 types: logos, ethos, pathos.

Logos (logical) Argumentation or create meaning from something.

 Ethos (ethical) Source credibility.

3 factors of source credibility being: perceived intelligence, virtuous character, goodwill toward audience

Pathos (emotional) evokes feelings or emotions of the audience through speech.
