         <title>CHINESE NEW YEAR</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I choose this festivity because I love the New Year's Day and this culture celebrate this day very beautiful.<br><br><br>Chinese New Year is an important festivity for Chinese people. It's also called the Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year (in this type of calendar every month begins with the new moon).<br>The years of the Chinese calendar has an animal name. They believe that a person born in a partucular year because has the charactristics of that animal.<br><br>The day changes, but is always between 21 Jenuary and 19 February. This celebrity lasts two weeks and the families meet together. Also, they decorate everything.<br>During this days, th Chinese people clean their houses and throw away old things. This means they are throwing away the bad luck of the past year.<br><br>On New Year Day, Chinese wear new clothes. Red is a popular colour because&nbsp; for they is lucky.<br><br>The parade on New Year's Day is very popular. The dragon is an important part of the parade because their believe it is noble and lucky. Also, the lion is an important part of the parade. Musician play the drums and cymbals during the lion dance. There are a lot of noisy. The Chinese believe that the noisy frightens evil spirits.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I choose this festivity because in Spain also celebrate this and I love celebrate it because I am with my family.<br><br><br>Father Christmas, also called Santa Claus, is based on St. Nicholas. Nicholas was a Christian bishop of Myra in the fourth century. He was generous and kind.<br><br>In the eighteen century Dutch settlers took the tradition os Sinterklass to New York. The word Sinterklass change to Santa Claus.<br><br>Thomas Nast created the modern image of Santa Claus in 1863.<br><br>Before Americans and British children go to bed on Christmas Eve, they leave mince pies, biscuits... The following day they have a lot of presents.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>VALENTINE&#39;S DAY</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I choose this festivity because I like the tradition of the United States.<br><br><br>On lovers celebrated Valentine's Day. People in love give each other cards and presents (specially roses, chocolates and jewellery)<br><br>The ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia was on 15 February. On this day young men took the names of young women out of a vase.<br><br>The Christian Church wanted to replace pagan festivals with Chiristian festivals. So, at the end of the fifth century Pope Gelasius created St Valentine's Day on 14 February.<br>Nobody knows who was Valentine. There are three possiblities!<br><br>European immigrants took the Valentine tradition to America. They made cards (in it they paint butterflies, flowers, cupids...)<br><br>In the United States young schoolchildren take to school the same number of Valentine's cards as the number of children in the class. Then, the teacher gives the cards of the classmates with some sweets.</div>]]></description>
