From Dr. Lamberty-

I work at our Chino location 10 to 6 PM Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. I work at our Whittier location Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 to 6 PM, Every other week, I see patients at an FQHC, Friends of Family in La Puente and Pico Rivera for half a day in the afternoons, 2 to 6 pm. I schedule surgery every morning at 7:30 AM in Montclair Hospital or Whittier Hospital. They should join me for surgeries in the mornings and in clinic after 10 AM. I currently do about 20 deliveries a month at Whittier Hospital and about 5 to 6 at Montclair Hospital. I would like students to follow patients in labor whenever patients are admitted in active labor (6 cm dilated) until delivery. If the student is following a patient in labor beyond work hours, they get the next day off to rest. I ask all students to prepare a 10 minute power point presentation about a common subject in OB/GYN.

First day of rotation, report to CVMC Surgical floor at 7AM for OR Scrubbing Skills assesment.

Start time varies each day, but could be as early as 7:30 AM.

End time varies as well. On occasion, students may stay as late as 11:00 PM or be called in over night.

Dr. Oh is an active provider at many different hospitals (Montclair, Chino Valley, San Dimas, Foothill, Inter-community, Queen of the Valley, Pomona Valley, Casa Colina and Kindred Ontario/Rancho) and he can be at any of these hospitals on any given day. Students follow wherever Dr. Oh goes as long as they are cleared at that hospital.

Dr. Oh has mandatory clinic on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

Having a vehicle to get to and from your rotation sites would certainly be useful. If you do not have access to your own transportation while with us on rotation, please let us know so we can try to be as accommodating as possible. Some options to consider may include:

Meal Allowance

During your rotation, you will be provided with up to $15.00 for a meal allowance through the hospital cafeteria ONLY (as long as you are wearing your medical student ID). No ID, no allowance. It is your responsibility to manage your allowance. If you exceed the $15.00, you will be expected to pay out of pocket. Meals are not provided on days that you are not on rotation.

The sites vary on their meal allowance. At orientation, you will be explained of what that location provides.

Sandwiches, snacks and drinks are stocked in the classroom and are prioritized for the residents and students on night float. Residents and Students are also allowed to order from the patient menu. Those working days, should use their meal fund in the cafeteria for meals and snacks.
