We are showed the markers each having a a corresponding number on the dice and in the example we follow the pattern of what the dice shows when we roll it. This adds a fun and playful touch to introducing the concept of patterns to our students.

DIY Paper Weaving

This video is from the Children's Museum of Sonoma County and it depicts how we can explore using paper in ways we normally wouldn't think too. It expands on the idea of getting students to have hands on experiences and by having them create a 3D piece of artwork they're able to connect with that playful side of themselves through this weaving activity.

Crumpled Paper art inspired by the book "Ish" by Peter H. Reynolds

This blog shows us a technique that was used in the book "Ish" which is about a boy who isn't very confident in his artwork. He learns to value of his work after his sister starts hanging up his crumpled up papers. By including the story element of this activity it can inspire our students to create something new and not worry so much about making something seem perfect. It allows them to freely create without any doubts in their heads.
