Not gonna lie, Erik Erikson’s theory about the 8 stages of psychosocial development about how a child grows into the person they are is actually kinda accurate. 

“Carl Rogers is often seen as an influential scientist who changed the study of psychology for the better. The majority of modern day psychologist see his ideas as completely accurate, however ‘his emphasis on children’s feeling good and self-esteem has backfired’. Many of us (parents) have raised morons purely because we have listened to Mr. Rogers. We raised our kids telling them we like them how they are, and they don’t need to improve themselves. Because of this we have created a culture that is fixated on each other’s feelings and sensitivity, and is not concerned about hard work. Carl Rogers has negatively influenced psychology, and introduced ineffective strategies to the world. If you want your kids to feel good about themselves, you have to acknowledge their success, and punish them for their wrongdoings.”
