The impressive computer generated imagery used in this video lends generously to the understanding of the electrical signal processing done by our nerves. As we experience sensory stimulation comparable to that which was experienced by the helicopter pilot in a stressful situation our nerves fire electrical impulses so quickly that the resulting motor functions happen quicker than our thought process. It is interesting to imagine our instinctual responses as bulleted electrical impulses moving faster than our consciousness. This shows that self-preservation is human nature, instinctualized since birth.

This shared a story of survival to illuminate the importance of water in the human body. Interestingly, the bodies cooling process is what helped the two victims survive for a longer amount of time. The blood in their bodies was pushed to the surface, just below the skin where the sweat glands extracted the water and released it to be evaporated in an effort to cool the skin. This process is another example of our autonomic nervous system reacting in a manner of self-preservation.
