the environment in feed is not good at all, with things such as clouds(trademark) like they're owned rather than natural. even when titus was hacked a while ago, he saw "fields and fields of black, it was this disgusting black shit, spread for miles. l saw walls of concrete fall from the sky and crush little wood houses.(pg152)" this shows how the world itself is destroying itself from the inside, how everything is dying and falling but is never shown. the characters are effected by these problems by how they see the world, with gray "clouds" from all the factory's rising up, the parks getting cut down to put in "air factories"(pg125) and how the world is decaying from all this pollution. I can say one word to answer this question , Nestlé. they have children slaves, mass pollution to a point where they permanently poisoned a villages water supply and wiped them all out with that.

One big issue was the deforestation or pollution or whatever the filet mignon farm would be. "It was a filet mignon farm, all of it, and the tissue spread for miles around the paths where we were walking... They has these tunes, they were bringing the tissue blood, and we could see the blood running up and down." (142). This makes it so that instead of having to do stuff naturally, they could just get a farm and get all the natural filet mignon they want. This is somewhat represented in the real world by us making all these vegetarian or vegan alternatives for meaty foods, so that would also just be a way to make natural foods unnatural.

one big problem in Feed is how messed up the environment has gotten At the start, Titus says “We went to the moon to have fun, but the moon turned out to completely suck” (part 1p3) This shows how even the moon which should be exciting and new, is just another boring, fake place ruined by companies On Earth things are so damaged that kids like Titus and his friends don’t even think about enjoying nature they just focus on shopping parties and what’s trending on their feeds. Because of that, they don’t really notice or care about what’s been lost, and it leaves them kind of empty inside This connects to our own world since we also deal with pollution and climate change, but a lot of people ignore it and get distracted by technology or social media instead. Anderson’s point still matters today because if we don’t pay attention the same thing could happen to us. or even worst ROBOT PROBLEMSS

(Anderson 142) this impacts their uh world because it like messes up their mental state and its weird and gross because compared to our real world I mean we grow plants with water to where in the book its blood circulating instead his concern is probably like the amount of chemicals? idk or stuff we add to grow plants could be detrimental to our health

67

One of the issues presented in the book is Trends and how they impact the characters in the book, for example Titus describes how they "looked kind of bad. We looked tired and sleepy, and even though were all pretty good looking... we were all pale and our hair greasy. We had the lesions people were getting, and outs right then were kind of red and wet-looking. Link had some on his jaw, I had some on my arm and side. Quendy had a lesions on her forehead. In the lights of the hallway you could see them real good. There are different kinds of lesions... but somehow are lesions, in this case, seemed like kid stuff." This shows how lesions are now just a "common thing now" that everyone has, and to ignore it rather than fix the situation. this impacts their mental state and well-being due to prioritizing their appearance more then the actual issue that there ignoring a real condition that is technically harmful to their body if not taken care of. This also ties in to our real world because it shows that many corporations and people like to ignore the facts rather then the truth to keep up with the trend instead of thinking of the critical consequences that come with it, So I would say Yes M.T Anderson concern is valid because it might not be as bad as it is right now but it can get to the point, causing us to stay in denial about everything and continuing our same old ways.

I believe one of the things that is most concerning to me is the amount of deforestation happening like the trees of big national parks are being cut down to make air factories because the air is so polluted that then leads to the people in the book creating lesions in their body which are opened wounds and since they are opened wounds and the air is so contaminated doesn't that mean they never get fully healed and then they just keep getting infected?” He nodded, then squinted while he clawed something off the roof of his mouth with his tongue. He told us, “Yeah. Jefferson Park? Yeah. That was knocked down to make an air factory.”pg 71. I feel like Violet and maybe her dad are like the only persons concerned about the deforestation in the story because Titus' dad seems to be totally okay with the fact that their word is soon gonna fall apart. I feel as though their lifestyle is definitely impacted because most people aren't open to the idea that opening air factories is bad for the environment, they just see it as a privilege. I feel like Violet's mental state is the only one getting hurt or sad because she is the only one that we have read that is concerned about that fact. I believe that we are going to get to this point because so many people use air now and I don't think they know that using air causes pollution because of how it's generated.

In M.T. Anderson's novel "Feed", it is shown that the concern for the environment and the citizen's health has gone down and became more normalized. On page 125, it states "Yeah. Jefferson Park? yeah. That was knocked down to make an air factory." that shows how much society has lost touch with nature and became so dependent on manufacturing technology.

This greatly affects the characters in the novel because trees are a huge essential to air quality and filters pollutants. The trees also break down gases so without the trees, the characters have no choice but to breathe in the toxins in the air which are causing these lesions and other health concerns.

M.T. Anderson's concern is valid because our world is starting to lose touch with reality and nature. You'll see this with plastic pollution and all these new tech inventions which are designed to make us slowly lose the ability to think for ourselves and depend solely on these inventions. If we keep going at this rate we will end up like the citizens in the world of feed.

In the World of Feed environmental concerns captivate the surroundings. Air and trees specifically are something that has been taken over in this world and changed to fit a dystopian lens. We see Titus and Violet make plans to go to a forest called "Jefferson park" but An air factory replaced it and the trees were used in order to make the factory. "Do you know how inefficient trees are, next to an air factory? But we need trees! (Anderson 125)". This removal takes a toll on both Titus and Violet because it makes them realize vital resources in order to live (air) are being stripped away for certain advancements in the world of feed. This could impact the way Titus and Violet think and feel about what things the world of feed prioritizes. M.T Anderson makes a strong point here in the world of feed. Climate change and environmental concerns like pollution and deforestation play a huge part in the declining health of our earth today. Not many times are these climate centered issues addressed because they have become so much more of a problem since 2001. This concern is very valid and true to 2025 because it raises a valid point to where our earth stands health wise.

In the book "feed" by MT Anderson, environmental destruction is a major problem that affects people a lot. Titus dad said "Jefferson Park? it was knocked down to make an air factory"(pg125) this shows that people insatible desire to maximize the effecients of production wich leads to forests disappearing, pollution damage, habitat destruction, and climate change. Most people lived in a world where environmental collapse is normal, so they don’t question the toxic air, artificial clouds, or dead landscapes. The effect is still present, most people got skin lessions that become a fashion trend. In our world people do the same thing destroing nature. It lead lead to climate change, environmental pollution and extinction of species.

In the world of Feed, it is apparent that there are issues involving the socio-economic status of people and how the privileges that they have differ depending on an individual's financial situation. For example, this can be seen when Violet says, "If you get the feed after you're fully formed.. It's more susceptible to malfunction"(Anderson 170). In this book, the Feed is connected and a part of anyone who has it. The Feed does not control anyone, but it is connected to every part of them, like their physical and mental states. Violet, one of the main protagonists in the book, expresses how, in random moments, certain parts of her body will freeze and not move. This is concerning because her body is physically shutting down because of the feed, and it introduces the possible idea that maybe the feed could also shut down important parts of her body, like her heart or brain. In contrast to this, Titus, the main protagonist of the book, was raised in a different financial situation from Violet. Violet was born into a poorer family, which is why she could not get the feed until her later years, compared to Titus, who had his Feed implanted into him since he was an infant. This only adds to the fact that socioeconomic status is an issue because if you are born into a society that gives you everything that you could need and want, then life is made easy, but if you're not born wealthy, the life you will have is ultimately going to be harder and filled with more issues. I say this especially because the Feed is something that is bought; it is not given to everyone. In the real world, we can see how sometimes people can be made fun of or seen differently if they don't own Apple products, such as their phone or AirPods. This kind of association that Apple technology is better than Android technology only further reiterates M.T. Anderson's concern about how the world of Feed could become a possible reality because Apple has a higher price point, which, like the feed, makes it more exclusive. Also, the new Apple Vision Pros that Apple has created can be the first steps to the future that Anderson wrote about.

In the book Feed, we learn that people are cutting down large amounts of trees to produce an air factory because “People need a lot of air,”. Violet argued that “trees need air.” Violet seems to me more in touch with the problems around the world, while most of the rest of our characters are blind to the fact that the world is trying to industrialize to make everything more efficient. When in reality, it is just causing pollution. Violet is trying to show our characters the problems within the world. Industrialization is causing pollution, which in turn is leading to increased health problems. Our world is trending in this direction since we are trying to make everything easier. In reality, if we were to do this, it would result in pollution, health concerns, and our planet would never return to what it should have been.

Sure. Do you know how inefficient trees are, next to an air factory?' 'But we need trees!' ". With these problems it could impact there life by health concerns or pollution. If air factories don't work and it could lead to really bad air quality. This connects to our world because the more we live on the earth gets hotter and hotter and with pollution it doesn't help with the air quality could get worse with trash everywhere and thats what we could be breathing if we continue not caring about the earth. Anderson's concern is valid because he made this book almost two decades ago and he basically gave us a warning how the earth could be so if were not careful the world could get worse.

In the book The Feed by M.T. Anderson. The book displays problems that we have in our world, but Anderson exaggerates them way more, making them seem stupid or not worth caring about. Some issues in the books are health concerns, poverty, environmental concerns, and trends. Environmental concerns would be one of the biggest problems, in my opinion. In the book, Titius's dad tells Titus how they are taking down one of the town's parks (deforestation) to make an Air factory. "The forest's gone," says Titus' dad, "...was knocked down to make an air factory." (125 Anderson). This truly shows how bad the environment is getting and that they have to take down trees and parks to make an air factory to survive. The pollution and deforestation impact the lifestyle of the characters in the book because it takes away an important source to our life. Will it really get that made that we'll need air factories someday? I think M.T. Anderson has many good points in this book, especially this one. We do have pollution and deforestation problems. If we continue to act like we are right now, we could end up like the novel in the future.

With the feed, people can get instant feedback on current trends and feel the need to conform to them right away. In feed, it would be even more stressful as the changes happen quicker, and the feed will let you know what is happening right away.
