This organization has a goal of lowering national child poverty levels by 50% within 10 years, as placing priority on the health and well-being on our children is extremely important for our future. End Child Poverty's main initiative is to have laws targeting the end of child poverty put into place in the U.S., as none currently exist. They work towards holding the government accountable for the reduction of child poverty within our nation. End Child Poverty U.S. works alongside many national organizations, with some of the most recognizable being National WIC Association, National Center for Children in Poverty, No Kid Hungry, and Children's Health Fund. For example, they are more likely to suffer higher obesity rates, have more social and emotional problems and are more likely to report poor or fair health. Because their parents do not have the money they are more likely to not have the opportunities to afford private education or even extra curricular activities that many other students do. The sons and daughters of college-educated parents are more than twice as likely to go to college as the children of high school graduates and seven times as likely as those of high school dropouts.
