The nuns weren't even actual teachers with degrees, but they were uneducated people and didn't know how to treat chilren. Another reason they were brutal was because the government/ church ministers were basically taking away abhoriginal peoples culture and language away from them for no reason. This was a really brutal/heartless  act of discrimination
