I actually stumbled upon this place while skateboarding with a friend of mine a few months back. We took a picture in front of it not knowing that it was haunted (I will share the photo in a different post).

Anyways, the article includes a little horror story where a security guard claims to have seen 2 ghost women sitting there. It has been discussed in this course that people have tried to make up stories for popularity. For all we know this story could have been a lie.

Quite an interesting read, and I will explain why....

The list includes things like strange smells, cupboards being opened and closed, items being moved around, lights flickering etc. (the generic stuff). Most of these events can be explained logistically. The reason lights flicker can be a result of faulty wiring. The items being moved around could be due to a family member moving your stuff around (unless you live alone), such and such.

The only thing I can actually somewhat agree with, is the weird animal behaviour. Dogs for example, have a better sense of hearing, and sight than humans. So it makes sense to a certain point. I tend to believe things more when there is scientific backup.

I had no idea that the white house was somewhat haunted. This article talks about how people in the white house have seen ghosts of past presidents, and family members walking around at times. I believe that there may actually be ghosts there. The White House has had an insane historical background, and the chances of spirits that lurk the halls, is not out of the question.

Abraham Lincoln has been seen tying his shoes on his bed, lying down, walking around the hallways, and staring out the window. It's cool to know, because nobody ever sees the White house as a haunted place.

Something in common with all these places, is the fact that there have been formerly troubled people who have died, and now their spirits haunt the place. 

I found a relation to the "emotional connection" thing from reasons to believe. There are many biases and more storytelling than actual belief. Eastern State Penitentiary is a former prison is Pennsylvania. The practices used in its early years were unusually cruel and drove people to insanity.

Skeptically many people are drawing from what other "eye witnesses have been saying" this gives them a relatively strong bias before even entering the building because they already want to believe.

It is said to be home of beheaded ghosts and many other apparitions. 

There is no concrete proof of any of these however despite the history of the location. There is a lot of backstory to the home and some while contradictory has some basis in reality.
