This book, written by Terri Roberts, explains in full detail one of a mother's worst nightmares. In 2006, Robert's son entered an Amish schoolhouse with a gun and started firing, killing 5 girls and wounding several others. However, it wasn't the incident itself that got all of the attention, rather the unusual amount of forgiveness Terri received from the Amish community. Despite what had just happened, the Amish had shown Terri how important forgiveness is, and Robert's passes this lesson down to her readers. These people came in huge amounts to Terri to express their grief and offer their forgiveness, and interestingly enough some of these people included relatives of the victims. Readers can learn a lot about this book, not only does it show how important the act of forgiveness is, but it also gives readers countless examples of how to cope with problems, and how no matter how bad tensions can get, it is important and necessary to just forgive, as the Amish had done with Terri.
