Cat's can be both ferocious and adorable and it is ridiculous to gender it needlessly. While Super Cat is a male character, he is designed to be accessible to any and all lovers of cats and super heroes regardless of gender. The commercial should be redone in a way in which it appeals to both boys and girls who will both likely be excited for a new Super Cat action figure. A BBC article supports that there was a time in which an action figure releasing that was considered" feminine" was a laughing stock. ""When Action Man came out it was the laughing stock of the 1966 toy fair, 'a doll toy for a boy? You'll be laughed out of the industry', and of course it was the toy of the year for the next 10 years."
