"We are told that unless we take charge of a certain country it will be poorly-governed and get into internal trouble. This is certainly no motivation." This is still unconstitutional because we are not to take unless we have the intent of turning into a state. this makes the claiming unconstitutional.

Not necessary, unconstitutional not good for America.According to the spirit of our Constitutional system, foreign territory should be acquired only with a purpose of being added into this country as one or more states at some [later] date. The people of any acquired territory would have citizenship rights and the United States would have to undertake certain obligations with regard to them. In other words, this Republic would admit them as equal members to its National household and take upon itself all the responsibilities for them which their admission involves. The advocates of [imperialism] say that unless we take a certain country offered to us -- Hawaii, for instance -- some other power will take it, and that, having refused ourselves, we cannot object. This is absurd

"The people of any acquired territory would have citizenship rights and the United States would have to undertake certain obligations with regard to them." Doesn't fit american values, Not good for america, Not necessary, Not constitutional. This is blasphemous to the name of american citizenship, giving a whole country american citizenship is ridicules especially for what the americans had to go through to obtain their independence and citizenship from england.

“and that the rich resources of the countries within our reach should be open to American capital and enterprise.” (Doesn’t fit with American values)

This quote does not fit with American values. Taking what you can just because you are able to from countries around you is very conquering and makes it seem like you are going to run them dry of resources and that America is entitled to them simply because America is America. The founding fathers would likely frown upon this.
