So I think it’s about time when I tell you what popular books I haven’t read. Yay ! Erm… So ! A lot of popular books came out in the past two years. A lot of them you guys probably thought I’ve already read. But I haven’t. (…) And some of these will probably come as a shock to you guys. For sure. (…)

People tend to judge if you haven’t read some books. So of course you might have come across the point of your life where you’re like “heh! Do I tell them I haven’t read the book yet or do I pretend that I have?” For me, I don’t think that I’ve ever lied about reading a book. I have veiled the truth a little bit during school. Once. Twice. Maybe seven times. For reading school books. But that’s just because I had other books to read, like young adult books that were awesome and exciting like Divergent and Hunger Games.

Hello ! I’m Christine ! Welcome to Booktalk. We are discussing John Green new book Turtles All the Way Down. I read it over the past three days. It was great. John’s last book was – maybe you remember it – The Fault in our Stars. And the day it came out, I was so excited, I went to read the first chapter and I really felt like I couldn’t read it (…) but the first chapter was talking a lot about cancer and I was like I can’t… I can’t read it.  It’s going to make me crazy. And then, a year and half later, I picked it up again ‘cause I was super prepared and then literally the next chapter was fine. Like literally the next chapter it’s fine.

With Turtles All the Way Down, it’s going to be a complete change of pace, it’s gonna be fine and I read the first chapter. I was “No, no, oh my God, am I not going able to read this?”. I was so scared I had to put it down because it was so real for me. Reading is a thought process.
