such as the Visigoths and the Vandals. These

invasions led to many military losses. Rome

lost territory and revenue to them.

Invasions by German tribes from the north increased during 235-284 AD ( During the 'Barracks Emperors' )
During the Diocletian period (245-305). The emperor that ruled during this period eliminated the influence of military and Christianity. He later committed suicide by starving himself to death when he failed to rule successfully.
The pressure split the empire into two independent parts or empires increased during 305-324 AD. A renewed struggle was undertaken during this time to suppress the Barbarians.
Constantine (274-337 AD) headed the eastern Byzantine Empire and made it's capital at Constantinople. He was one of the greatest emperor's of Rome ever.
Romulus Augustulus was the last emperor to rule the western empire. He was over thrown by German Chieftain Odovacar in 476 AD in capital city of Ravenna.

was also found in cosmetics. All

of this led to heavy metal poising.

Lead was a deadly poison to Rome's

How did Rome Collapse

By the end of 476 AD, the western part of the Roman Empire

was completely devastated due to invasions by Germany. The

collapse of the Roman Empire was a ongoing process that

continued for centuries. Historians claimed the Roman Empire

finally collapsed 1453 AD with the fall of the eastern Byzantine Empire,

also believe that the rise in Islam was one of the main reasons that caused the decline.

with the fall of Rome. Of course there

were big economic problems such as

inflation, but there were smaller things

such as hoarding and poor management.
