         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Invasions by German tribes from the north increased during 235-284 AD ( During the 'Barracks Emperors' )</p></li><li><p>During the Diocletian period (245-305). The emperor that ruled during this period eliminated  the influence of military and Christianity. He later committed suicide by starving himself to death when he failed to rule successfully. </p></li><li>The pressure split the empire into two independent parts or empires increased during 305-324 AD. A renewed struggle was undertaken during this time to suppress the Barbarians.</li><li>Constantine (274-337 AD) headed the eastern Byzantine Empire and made it's capital at Constantinople. He was one of the greatest emperor's of Rome ever. </li><li>Romulus Augustulus was the last emperor to rule the western empire. He was over thrown by German Chieftain Odovacar in 476 AD in capital city of Ravenna.</li></ul>]]></description>

The </p><p>collapse of the Roman Empire was a ongoing process that </p><p>continued for centuries. Historians claimed the Roman Empire&nbsp;</p><p>finally collapsed 1453 AD  with&nbsp;the fall of the&nbsp;eastern Byzantine Empire,&nbsp;</p><p>also believe that the rise in Islam was&nbsp;one of the&nbsp;main reasons that caused the decline.</p>]]></description>
