ENG 111 requires two textbooks, The Little Seagull Handbook (4th ed.) and They Say/I Say (5th ed.), and W.W. Norton’s web-based digital resources , InQuizitive for Writers and Tutorials, that require an access code. All four resources are available in the RCC bookstore as a bundle.

If you have a laptop, tablet, or Chromebook, please bring it to class with you.

Devices are not required but will be handy. We have laptops in the classrooms you can use, but it would be much more convenient for you to bring your own.

The James Library on campus has laptops available for you to borrow for the semester.

Moodle pages open up just after midnight on the day your class starts, so you won't have access until then.

Before you can access course content, you need to do 2 things:
1. Complete the Required Enrollment Assignment (REA)
2. Complete the Syllabus Acknowledgement Statement

I know it could be tough to get this done before class, especially if you're in the 8am section, but please do your best to get course access as soon as possible.

WHERE TO GET YOUR BOOKS if you're a high school student (great news: they're free for you!)

Early College students get your books from the Early College office in the second floor of the library.

CCP students who are from homeschool or private schools, get your books from the RCC bookstore

Rockingham County Schools high school students should go to the guidance office at the high school.

CLASS LOCATIONS

ENG 112-41 and ENG 111-1440 are completely online

ENG 111-50 meets in Humanities 109 on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9am

ENG 111-55 meets in Humanities 104 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11am

ENG 110-50 meets on Fridays at 8:30 in Science 111

ENG 112-03 meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 in Humanities 104

These buildings are often either too cold or too warm, so wear layers.

Borrow a laptop from the James Library

LAPTOPS are now available to check out for the semester. Must be a full time RCC student and have an RCC student ID card. Student IDs are made in the Whitcomb Student Center. Library hours are 7:45am-6pm Monday-Thursday and 7:45am-3pm on Friday.

Your #1 task: Complete the REA for each class you're enrolled in.

The REA is the Required Enrollment Assignment, and along with your attendance in class (for face to face classes), it determines whether you *stay* enrolled or get dropped from the roster.

Also, you won't have access to any of our Moodle content until you complete both the REA and the Syllabus Acknowledgement.

Moodle courses will show up on the day your class starts.
