You can refuse any type of pressure or anything that endangers your health. Spoken pressure is when "someone pressures you with words [and] it can be hard to resist"(Online Text 6). When you are dealing with spoken pressure you need to say no, you can also suggest something else to do, rather than drinking alcohol or something else that endangers your health. You can also stand up for others who are having trouble saying no and walk away from the situation.

You can collaborate with someone when you have reached a compromise to further better your health or someone else's. Compromises are "often positive alternatives which can often achieve greater benefit for all concerned compared to holding to the original positions"(Online Text 9). When you collaborate to make a compromise, you can benefit more than if you did not collaborate. When it comes to health, you can collaborate with others to find what eating habits will benefit you the most.

You can negotiate. Negotiation is defined by the text as "a method by which people settle differences"(Online Text 7). You can negotiate in many ways, but when toy do negotiate you need to make sure you are prepared, you discuss with the other side, clarify your goals, try to get a win-win outcome, reach an agreement and implement a course of action. If you want a successful negotiation, then you need to follow these steps. One example of negotiating in health is if one person thinks eating junk food all the time is not bad, but you think it is. You can set up a negotiation to better each others health when deciding if junk food is bad for you or not.

One time my friend was going to the bathroom at a public event and meet some people who were vaping. They offered her a vape and she had to figure out a way to refuse them. She said no confidently and left the bathroom. She had to refuse something that would be bad for her health. She said that this was not challenging because the people were fine with her not wanting to vape. She wanted to reduce her health risks and not vape.
