I do believe there are different races. How else are we supposed to know what someone's ethnicity is. "It is true that all modern human populations have genetic differences that reflect adaptation to the environments their “recent” ancestors inhabited." "it is possible to estimate the continental origin of different segments of an individual’s DNA." Yes we have many different generations going back, but at least we can tell where we most likely originated from.

Everyone has black genes in them. Obama Meets Lucy states, “we are reminded that Ethiopians, Americans, all the people of the world are part of the same human family, the same chain. And as one of the professors who was describing the artifacts correctly pointed out, so much of the hardship and conflict and sadness and violence that occurs around the world is because we forget that fact.We look at superficial differences as opposed to seeing the fundamental connection that we all share.”

I personally believe that there are different races of people People of different races tend to have unique things that apply only to them such as food and clothes. However I don't believe that race is based off of physical characteristics."Biological race has been defined by combinations of physical features, geographic ancestry, frequencies of genes (alleles) and evolutionary lineages. Biological races exist within some species. This is why we know they do not exist within our species, modern humans." Race is based off of the culture that was taught to a specific person when they were growing up.

I believe there are different races. Even if biological races don’t exist, we developed different races based on similar ancestry, culture, background, and physical characteristics. In “Obama Meets Lucy” one of the curators stated, “‘we have the evidence that homo sapiens indeed emerged in Ethiopia’”. Even though we all have genes that originated in Africa, there are other distinctions that help to define race. “Race is a Social Construct” claims that “there is no single physical trait or gene that can be used to unambiguously assign people to racial groups”. Because of this, I think race is more defined by sharing a culture or history and less about skin tone.

I don't believe there are different races. Race isn't being a certain color or a religion its a race of human beings. In Obama Meets Lucy says, “we are reminded that Ethiopians, Americans, all the people of the world are part of the same human family, the same chain. Meaning we all once was together until we went different routes and that then changed who we were as far as ethnicity.

I believe that there are different races now, because of what what and how we define them today. In the article, Obama meets Lucy states that, "We look at superficial differences as opposed to seeing the fundamental connection that we all share." Overtime, races were defined with the color of our skin and how that has been passed down from our parent's DNA. Learning about Lucy and discovering she is the oldest ancestor of the human race to be found supports my belief. The Race equals DNA article states, "This happened when human groups migrated out of Africa at different times and in different directions". I believe this is how we got our races, which all origin back to Africa.

I believe that different races do exist. But today's version of race is different from what it used to be. The type of race we have now is socially defined race. "Socially defined race has been defined by an arbitrarily organized combination of physical traits, geographic ancestry, language, religion and a variety of other cultural features. Social definitions of race differ depending on context and always operate in the service of social-dominance hierarchies". Even though we all came from

I do believe that we are all one human race. Society divides us all up by our skin color. But to be honest, we all come from the same place. We all come from Ethiopia. In the article it says, "we are reminded that Ethiopians, Americans, all the people of the world are part of the same human family, the same chain". So therefore their isn't really different races of people. - miyah
