At the police station, she was saying all of her crazy accusations with no real proof of anything. I don't understand how the rododendron is such a big deal. She was just doing some work in her yard, nothing much.

I think that this is a very important chapter. It is about Pandora's box, but I think more importantly, It is about hope. There is always hope, for even the impossible. Because, if there was no hope for Sal's mom to come back, she would not be on this trip. She might always be like Phoebe is now. So, I do really think that hope is the thing to take away from thins chapter. I hope so much for Sal that her mom comes back! Another important thing in this chapter is the look that Gram and Gramps exchange. Just like she need hope, she needed that look. Now she knows that mom do not leave because of her. In the book, it says, "It was separate but apart. We couldn't own our mothers." And lastly, another important part is worry. That is what Sal said was also in the box. She does not need the worry. But everyone has it. We all worry. But, I think that she needs to stop worrying, stop listening to the wind. She needs to relax.

In this the main part of it is the wind. Hurry hurry hurry. She needs to get to her mothers. I liked it better when the wind was saying slow down. She needs to calm down. Also, she was afraid of driving. That is one thing we keep hearing. After my mother left, I was afraid of... The list is huge. She is afraid of things that she used to love, and that is not doing anymore, and that is not okay. She needs to be something without her mom, and I hope by the end of the book her mom comes back, but she learns to be something without her mom.
