1. The ideas and information that connect are how the Japanese took over Manchuria and said those "excuses" to get around from being condemned by other countries, and also Japan's ideology. This paired with what I knew about China made a lot more sense and I also extended my knowledge on the perspective of Japan. I was surprised to how Japan was actually teaching humanitarian idealisms in college, which allowed me for a more objective view of this historical event.
2. What's more, I learned the relationship and political stands between Japan and the USA, as I always thought they were allies with each other. This can also relate to today and what the relationship of Japan and the USA is like nowadays.
3. Some challenges that rose for me were the dates of what happened as there were lots of important events like the Marco Polo bridge incident and the infamous Nanjing Massacre. What also stood out to me was how japan took over China, a huge country, with their rather small military forces.

Ended as Japan's surrender.
Extend:Japan blamed China for various reasons before the war started. Japan aimed to contain USSR by invading Manchuria.
challenge:How did the USSR reflect to Japan's behavior. Why Japan trying to battle with USSR

Nanjing Massacre happened during the war time.
2. After studying further, I learnt more about that the reason why US was involved in the war and was fighting against Japan.
3. I wonder what strategies that Japan used in order to occupy most of the lands in north China.

1. Before the PPT, I’ve already known that Communist and KMT were having a battle initially but later on, they stopped the internal war but united their power to have total fight against the Japan togethe: the Sino-Japanese war began.
2. Chang Hsueh-liang was contributed to unition of two political parties. According to the fact that Chang Hsueh-liang kidnapped the KMT’s leader Chiang Kai-Shek and forced him to a agree to have a common anti-Japanese front, KMT and Communist Party united.
3. I wondered why Chiang Kai-Shek, such a powerful leader can be kidnapped and forced by the member from Communist.

I used to know very brief pieces of information such as the invasion of Manchuria and the Nanjing Massacre.
Here are some pieces of information that were entirely new to me:
1. The Japanese guerilla method of battle was not efficient as it could not defeat the Communist Party's attacks.
2.The Communist Party had kidnapped ChiangKaiShek in order to gain control over China (Such a surprise that such an important leader could be kidnapped so easily).
3. The Japanese, at first, had used multiple methods to to sneak in to China (such as this incident where they told the Chinese Government to let part of their army into China because they were "looking for a soldier that had disappeared there".
4. The Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor and The USA had landed a nuclear bomb in Hiroshima after joining in towards the end of the second Sino-Japanese war.

What I want to know: How many lives could've been saved if China had allowed a small band of Japanese soldiers into the Chinese town to "look for the lost soldier" to postpone time to make it as easy to sneak attack the Japanese army as possible?

1.I knew that the Sano Japanese war lasts in total for 14 years, which started at 1931 and ended in 1945 with multiple contributing factors that lead to the result of the lost of Japan.
2.From what I learn, I can conclude that before 1937 september the seventh, the KMT party which had the largest influence in China wasn't determined to maintain the completeness of the Chinese territory and even decided to comprimise the Japanese invasion by authoritizing the land of Manchuria to be possessed by Japan. With the augmentation of the Japanese ambition, Japan ignited the Pacific war which made America involved. It must to be admitted that America greatly influenced the result of the Sano-Japanse war which ended fast after the disastrous strike in Japan with the use of nuclear bombs. The USSR also had influence in assulting the Japanses military leftovers in Manchuria, which they were greatly impacted by the Japanses amibition towards it's land.
3.I am puzzled by the act of Japan starting the Pacific war. Although they were dependent on the trade with America with necessary resources such as gasoline, they could give up to prevent further loses and maintain the relationship with America, atleast better.

With the help of Chinese soldiers and reinforcements from other countries, the Japanese were successfully defeated.
Extend: the ultimate goal of the Japanese is materials, which is a desire based on geographical factors and the slightly rooted nature of the people. So many strange relationships between Japan and other countries are based on this.
Challenge: why does the "patriotism" that the Japanese people believe in change because of racial discrimination.
