There are 8 characteristic of culture provided by examples.

1. Culture is learned and acquired
e.g Sarah has her own culture based on their family at the same time she will learn and acquired the culture presented in school so she will be able to cope-up with the school environment.

2. Culture is shared and transmitted
e.g Sarah will bring the culture she learned from school to their house and share it with her other siblings as she teaches them with their assignments.

3. Culture is social
e.g The beliefs of a country, both religious and historical, are often at the core of a country's culture.

4. Culture is ideational
e.g The difference between the perceived ideal culture and real culture can be seen in many national governments. While the highest national beliefs are that all people are equal and free (ideal culture) in many cases it isn't true. The real culture is often comprised of discrimination with many individuals not being treated equally.

5. Culture gratifies human needs
e.g It offers order, direction, and guidance in all phases of human problem solving by providing “tried and true” methods of satisfying physiological, personal, and social needs.

6. Culture is adaptive
e.g Despite having its own school culture, the school also adopt some positive culture of a partner school in able to progress and accumulate better learning and environment for the students and staff.

7. Culture tends toward integration
e.g This is when the people from a culture adopt the essence of another culture, such as its attitudes and ceremonies, while at the same time maintaining their own culture. This happens in many immigrant homes as a survival tool, regardless of where the individual moves to or is from. In terms of education, it happens when the student transfers to another school.

8. Culture is cumulative
e.g Cumulative culture refer to cumulative cultural evolution as well as to the products of this evolution. Cumulative culture simultaneously increases the efficiency of the trait as well as preserving changes to the form of the trait itself.

QUESTION TO PONDER: COMMENT DOWN BELOW!

If you are given a chance to give one important characteristic of culture aside from given examples, what is it and why?
