That day the World Trade Center was a lot emptier than usual being that it was primary day. A lot of people where stopping off before work to vote. At 8:19am the first plane was hijacked by members of Al-Qaeda and at 9:46am that first plane crashed into the  first tower World Trade Center. At 9:03am a second plane had hit the second tower of the World Trade Center. No one is entirely sure what was the cause of the attacks that day. Some believe that is was caused by Americas foreign polices partially in support of Israel and its invasion of Southern Lebanon. Others say that is was a result of Americas foreign occupation in the middle east namely in Iraq and Saudi Arabia. there are many theories none have yet to be proven. During this exhibition I want to show you the events of 9/11 how it impacted America and how that correlated to the war on Afghanistan as well as how it has effect the innocent people of Afghanistan. This is a documentary made on the 5 of September in 2011 made by the Smithsonian Channel and Directed by Leslie Woodhead. In the documentary are interviews of some of the most important people that were involved in dealing with the 9/11 attacks. We see people like Rudy Giuliani (The mayor of new York during 9/11), Laura Bush, Richard A. Clarke and Dick Cheney tell the viewer their perspective and their involvement in trying to deal with the attack. Through the Documentary we also come to an understanding on how much damage that the Al-Qaeda group had done to not only the American government. But the innocent people who had lost their lives that day. As well as the many families that had lost their loved one and were left to fend for themselves. This documentary is a good example of the effect it has had on America it shows us what people where going through on the day of the attacks from the people trapped in the buildings to the Policers officers and Firefighters tasked to save those people. Even just the bystanders witnessing the planes crashing into the towers and those towers collapsing. In this art piece we can see bits of rubble, newspapers, keyboards and other various things that could be found in the rubble where the World Trade Center had once stood. This piece shows us the more monetary side of the destruction that was caused during 9/11 but we can also the emotional destruction as well as can be found by the teddy bear and phones amongst the rubble presumably left by a child caught in the rubble. This is another good example of the impact the 9/11 attack have had on America and its people. 3000 people had died during the 9/11 attacks many of those deaths left families broken and without a means of earning any kind of income. Here is a blog that goes into detail on the events that led America to invade Afghanistan and major events that had occurred during the war on Afghan up to 2009. Here we can also see what effect this war has had on the Afghan people. According to the blog since 2001 up to 2012 around “16,725-19,013 have been killed as a result of murder, disease, malnutrition lack of proper healthcare and more”, in 2004 the life expectancy of the person in Afghanistan was 42 years, on top of that 25% of children didn’t make it to the age of 5. Not only has it had an effect on the people of Afghanistan but it has had an effect on their education system as well. “Schools have been torched as of 2010, around 6000 schools are on plain ground with no buildings”. Most villages have no schools built for girls and in many parts of the country schools have been closed down depriving children of any kind of education. This is just a small glimpse of the effect the war in Afghanistan has had on it people. This is an news article made by Inside Over made on June 2nd 2020. This article shows the viewer the effect the war in Afghanistan has had on families. In this article we read an retelling of a tragic event that befell an family in Afghanistan. Ms. Zamaria Hussani was a 32 year old Afghan mother, who had given birth to her sixth child on May 5th in a Doctors without Borders hospital in the Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood of Kabul. The name of the newborn was Hadia doctors had told Zamaria that Hadia had trouble breathing and had to be kept in the ward. Zamaria had stayed by her childs side and Hadia was due to be discharged May 12th. But on May 12th Hussani had called her eldest daughter and told her "There has been a suicede bombing i want to go home". And the told her "Whatever happens to me don't cry".

Hussani's wheelchair-bound husband Sayed Qurban Hussani called Zamaria two minutes later but no one answered the phone. Sayed went out look for her but was stopped on the street by a local community elder and told him it was to late to save her from the violence. That evening Hadi Zamarias 16 year old son called his mothers phone, a doctor picked up the phone and told Hadi to pick up his mothers body tomorrow. The baby Hadia had survived though the news of Zamarias death broke Hadi's heart as well as the hearts of his family. Three militants had attacked the hospital that day. They threw a hand grenade in the maternity ward and proceeded to shoot Zamaria and 23 others including unarmed guards, new mothers, pregnant women and even infants. The Afghan government had blamed the attack on the Taliban. The United States blamed the Islamic state and the Taliban denied the claims of being responsible for the attack. It is still unknown who was responsible for the massacre. This is another example of how the war on Afghanistan has effected its people. No one wanted this war and just because the Afghan government protected the Taliban doesn't mean the rest of the country supported that decision. Despite that they have been punished for something they have no control over.
