Number ten on my list is... the Clerc Museum! This was our second museum on Wednesday, May 17th, which is why it is number ten. This was a fun museum and walk around the area with some very funny tour guides! Here we learned more about how Clerc, the "Apostle of the Deaf in America" helped develop American Sign Language by coming to America with T. H. Gallaudet.

Musee Orsay! This was a pretty cool artsy museum with very interesting art. The clock here was absolutely stunning and really made this museum what is was! The art here was very different from the Louvre I thought, this was some more modern but also had some classics from Monet which were outstanding to see in person.

Versailles comes in at my number 8! Getting to go to Versailles and seeing the Palace was something that was so amazing. Seeing all of the private "apartments" of the kings and the chapel really gave a taste of what it was like back when it was in use by the Royals. The gardens were even better than I could have dreamed as well as seeing the cottages.

The one and only Louvre comes in at lucky number 7! Getting to see the most famous art in the world was something I could only have dreamed of! Seeing the Mona Lisa was great but also getting to see so much Deaf Art and learn the history about it made the whole experience at the Louvre so much more meaningful. All of this art is something I am grateful I took so many pictures of!

The beautiful Fountainbleau that does not actually have a fountain (that we saw..) :) The architecture in this historic monument was absolutely stunning. All of the artworks, rooms and carvings were so intricately placed and drawn out it almost looked like it was straight out of a movie.

The beautiful Cluny comes in at my number 4. This was an amazing experience getting to see where the first Monastic sign language was used. This was very interesting because the Munks were not deaf but took an oath for silence so it was interesting to see how they developed their own means of communication.

The most tourist-y thing that we did on this trip comes in at number 3, the Eiffel Tower! This is number 3 because of the way we went through the tour of the tower. Going through it as a group of "deaf" students who signed while in the tower made it all coincide with the purpose of the trip which is learning and being apart of the Deaf community and culture.

The Sunday we were in France, we went to visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and Saint-Chapelle. This comes in at number two for me because a couple of weeks before we went on the trip I was Confirmed into the Catholic religion. So getting to see the Cathedral the way I did via Sign Language and with the people I saw it with really made this one of the highlights of the trip.

My number one favorite thing about the ASL 390F trip was... The St. Jacques Deaf School! This was what I was looking forward to the most while we were in France because of the significance it has on the Deaf community. Getting the up close and personal tour of the school was very special as well as learning more about the famous people who have spent time there.
