Participants in Professional Development activities do not follow up or assess their work independently. This is an area where administration will work this next school year to assure self-assessment and continuous reflection from teachers.

For the most part, teachers enjoy group work and like to make sure every stake-holder is held accountable to their responsibility.

Teachers demand clear expectations with rubrics and standards. This allows for teachers to reach the expected goals.

Teachers often ask and request resources from administration.

They don't take risk, they stick to rules and guidelines.

Don't want negative remarks on walkthroughs and observations

Teachers value independent practice time and reflection. They value the freedom and flexibility of being able to apply their didactic style to their pedagogic approach in the classroom.

Teachers like hands-on activities with time to practice. Lecture mode is not very effective with our staff. "Hyjacking" staff meetings is a turn-off for them.

The application of new technologies and innovation approaches to activities and presentations is effective with our staff. Concise directions are effective with our staff. We stay away from "preaching" to the staff because it is a turn-off.

Any new technology is always welcome. Web-based testing (i.e. phone apps, electronic collaboration.)

They communicate and work with their colleagues even when it isn't required.

They work well with each other and share ideas on a regular basis.

Teachers feel it is marginally important to share information with other teachers that are not in their content areas. They believe in sharing information that is relevant with teachers that are in their same content area.

This is a strength for our staff. Their focus is consistent.

Teachers are very pragmatic; they are not automatically attracted to "bells and whistles."

Teachers want to do what works and resist new things if not presented and implemented adequately.

Authenticity is relevant to teachers in the area of autonomy and flexibility in what they do. They want to be able to exercise a given degree of academic freedom when exercising their profession. Teachers expect purpose and relevance in everything they are expected to do. Teachers are eclectic in nature. They commonly ask: "Why are we doing this?", "what is the purpose?" "Will it work?"
