Therefore we have frequent each communications rather than normal design groups. Structural designer and facility designer are also in the same room. And construction manegers in the next room, we can deal with various problems right away with them.

We talk to each other about not only projects but also general conversation everyday.

My name is Shinsuke Yano. I’m in charge of construction site management in Nagoya-city, Japan.  And I’m responsible for managing safety, quality, delivery, and money about our project. In our site office, about 25 people are working for construct building. Today, I'd like to show you about our project's outline and our work style.

Our construction site has 2 buildings in a site. One is office building which has 21 stories. Another is repair building which is built 90 years ago, and it be turned a bank building into a wedding and restaurant.

Our work mainly involves human contact. So, we often do meeting with clients, designers, structural designers, subcontractors, workers, ect. And we usually have full-time work, but you can choose flextime if you have to care your children or parents. So please tell me if you have any trouble.

If there is something you don’t understand, let’s discuss together. It’s the best solution. Then, we have lunch together in our site office everyday, and sometimes drink beer in night, even if we’re snowed under. However it’s a good time to solve own question or problem to ask supervisor. In fact, having some question and facing some problem is good way to be a good construction maneger.

Finally, we can feel a sense of achievement, when constructing building will be finished. Let’s do together!

Our department have three main tasks. 
Borrowing money, management cash flow and stocks.
Among these tasks, I was in charge of management stocks that our company owns.
Can you imagine what we do? I’d like to show my works today.

1.daily
Our company has a lot of stock such as Toyota Mortar and Panasonic to get orders.
We have about 400 company’s stocks. Too many to control completely.We have to record all transactions. If a company have dividend, we have to recognize income. If a company goes public, we have to record it. We have to record all transactions for accounting accuracies.

2.monthly
We have to report to our CFO about current value of stocks and prediction how much we have dividend this year monthly.

3.annually
We have to file financial report. I was in charge of the stocks, contingent liabilities.

4.others
When the transaction would take place, we need to introduce it BOD. And we can design various buildings because the building uses are not divided for each group.

Our most important responsibility is to build safe buildings. However, balance sense is very important because of design and cost limitations. And creativity is also necessary

We use a lot of calculation software for design. And we always need to confirm that the result is correct.

We also visit the meeting at the construction site. Conversation with others is very important to build a good building. There are various difficulties, but we need to find the best solution.

Finally, ourposition can share impressions with the clients and colleagues when buildings are completed.

We work to buid twin residential tower buildings(A and B).(Twin buildings are both 53 stories.)There are 30 people in the construction site office.I'm charge of A building's construction site management.

I requres 5 important points to manage construction site.It is called QCDSE.QCDSE refers to Quality, Cost, Delivery,Safety, Environment.(It is the order of each initial letters.)I think that Safety is the first priority in construction sites, and the stable Quality is born after setting up an Environment that can avoid dangerous situations.and to plan good Delivery on safe environment leads to good Cost performance.
