I listen to a TED talk about how to reuse wastewater. Wastewater can classified into several types, gray water, yellow water, and black water. Gray water used in sinks, bathing, and laundry. Yellow water containing just urine. Black water in contact with feces. There are many steps to clean the water. First, precipitated large particles. Second, biological reaction tanks where microbes eat unwanted materials. Third, chemical disinfection processes that kill pathogens. But, if we want it clean enough to drink, there's much more treatment to be done. First, water passes through membranes with pores one-millionth of a meter across. Second, water will pass through an even finer reverse osmosis membrane. Third, ultraviolet lamps will be put into the water, emitting radiation to destroy the remaining microbes. After the above steps, the water is safe for people to drink.

Reducing standardized tests in schools, tests do not show students' character and basic qualities of human values. 65%-70% of students outside of school with their parents, so teachers have only 30% of ability to manage students. Money should be invested in the family and society, so that students have better opportunities to study outside the school.

B. Agree. It is not essay to be a responsible and excellent teacher, so there should be more pay for excellent teachers. In some school, teachers are even required to pay from their own pockets, which is very unreasonable.

I think A's expression is more powerful.
I listen to a TED talk about how electricity works and its principle. Electricity was make up with atoms and electronic, which move randomly. In order to use this kind of substance, people try to add the attraction to regulate the directions they move. Under this situations, Electrons moving in a directional direction form an electric current. To speak more specific, the current was divided into two kinds, they are direct current and alternating current. Its use depend on different situations.

Interesting chemistry videos from NileRed

I was randomly scanning YouTube shorts when an impressive chemistry experiment attracted me. I was shocked as he, NileRed, had directly drunk a cup of aqueous solution of denatonium benzoate, according to him, the most bitter chemical we know. Undeniably he felt nauseated but what impressed me most was that he was brave enough and knowledgeable enough to try on these chemical things. Chemistry is not my major and there is no way I am able to understand those academic professional experiments, and I even do not have an interest in watching them. However, even though I do not have relative knowledge, NileRed's videos really entertain me while extending my knowledge in a much more interesting way. I have watched a lot of his videos including his other channel, Nileblue, which is funnier and less strict. My favorite one on the NileRed channel is his product purple gold. Instead of being dyed, the gold turns to fantasy light purple with complex chemical changes. This experiment took NileRed a year to try until he finally succeeded, producing really nice purple gold that even close to the Professional jewelry production. It is interesting to see the exact changes in the gold in the entire producing. I enjoy these experiences I can follow him and have all these fails and successes. I am looking forward to his new videos.

Why don’t vampires cast reflections?

I listened to a TED talk about why vampires don't cast reflections. The speaker first discussed the origin of vampires. The legend started with rabies. In the 16th century, people who got rabies were afraid of sunlight and garlic, and they would die with blood around their mouths. These characteristics were considered to be vampire behavior. However, he also talked about the movies of vampires, but all suck. The films are just created to earn more money but are not really related to Dracula and are not terrifying. In other words, the vampire is always updated to fit the world now. Therefore, the reason why vampires don't cast reflections is that the reflections in the mirrors of vampires are just people's terrified. When humans who were thought to be weak and powerless united, the strength beat the terrified.

After Amy's mom wheeled her out of the hospital, she got a worser things was that she need to use bulky blocks of metal to walk on the floor. She was escaping from reality for few months, and in order to move forward she try to accept herself. Four months later, she continued skiing which is her favorite activity. However, everything is not as easy as she expected, she could not bend her ankles and knees. After one years of researching, Amy still could not find the leg which were suitable for her, and she decided to make a pair of leg by herself. At last, she got a pair of leg which were suitable for skiing and also receive a new kidney from her dad for her 21st birthday. She told us to believe in dreams and to face our fears which allow us to live beyond limits. Instead of looking at our challenges and our limitations as something negative, we can begin to look at them as blessings and magnificant gifts that can be used to ignite our imaginations to help us go further than we ever knew.

Glocuse Revolution has been focused on blood glucose studies for a while. In this video, Glocuse Revolution teaches people that blood glucose is closely related to how we feel in our bodies and how healthy we are. For example, if your blood glucose level is lower than average, you will feel hungry even if you don't feel hungry in real life. This signal seems like a fake signal that deceives all of us. To counter this problem, she gave the public some advice. Firstly, she recommended that we eat some vegetables before eating some carbohydrates, as vegetables can slow the speed at which our bodies take in carbohydrates. Besides, she stressed that the essence of every sugar is the same, whatever it is in fruit or sweetmeats. So, in reality, eating more fruit isn't good for our stable blood glucose.

Last night, I enjoyed watching If Shark Tank Was Asian: Season 3, a spoof of Shark Tank, an American business reality television series. The original show is for entrepreneurs making business presentations to a panel of five venture capitalists (investors in start-ups) called "sharks" on the program, who decide whether to invest in their companies. This spoof also had much the same flow but with promoting strange products related to jokes, memes, or stereotypes, which made me laugh. Hosted by Steven He, 10 participants are invited to both present goods and react to others. They are all famous video producers from YouTube or Instagram. My favorite part is Steven He's presentation at the beginning, selling Nature Shoes which are just shoes with no soles to make your mom stop asking you to play outside. He explained there was magic that shoes would never get dirty but only the feet got dirty and obviously, that was nonsense because there are no soles. It is also a good one that the shoes are sustainable with multiple modes, where the sport mode is just lift it to your legs and run with bare feet. The show lasts about 15 minutes and I can practice my listening skills while entertaining myself.

It's a TED talk. It's a simple trick to improve positive thinking. A psychologist teaches us how to get out of negative emotions. The main thing is to change the mind. For example, they tell some people about a success rate of 70% and another about a failure rate of 30 percent. Surgery is the same, but the focus is completely different. Therefore, positive thinking is important. However, it takes effort and requires trying and practicing positive thinking on your own. You can write something that you want to thank every day, which can easily increase your happiness and sense of well-being.

Moreover, Kevin, the smallest of the minions, changed into local overalls when he went to a place.

Frankly speaking, it could be a time killer. The people who are addicted to social media will rarely hand out and lack interaction with other people, which can cause corruption in interaction.

(edit: I agree with the former one's opinion the social media can bring positive impact on the individual and it is more logical. This video is convincing in its authenticity as there is evidence from the record and an explanation from an expert, Derrick Pitts, the Franklin Institute's chief astronomer and planetarium director. The purpose of this video is to inform the public that this asteroid, measured within 1 meter, will have little concerning problem with residents. However, as it is explained by one expert with his knowledge only and no data supporting the exact local impacts, the analysis of the effects can be biased. Derrick suggested that more attention should be paid to predicting the potential of a large asteroid hit and maximizing the opportunity to avoid disastrous effects.

The speaker view is clearly and comprehensively, but the idea for this speech I think comes mainly from the author herself, because she doesn't mention anyone associated with the idea; Her main point is that people must have the ability to imagine a future different from reality, instead of only believing in good things and being too optimistic. She uses an animation to compare the choice of a group of penguins facing a cliff. When a penguin faces a cliff and chooses to believe that it ca not fly directly down the cliff, then he may fall very badly; But if an optimistic penguin had resigned himself to jumping off a cliff with his parachute at the ready then a different outcome might have occurred.

I listen to a TED talk about why daylight is the secret to great sleep christine blue. Let's start with the question why daylight is so important for our organism, for health and, eventually, for sleep. Now throughout your body, in each and every single cell, there is a tiny molecular clock ticking inside it. And like the the conductor of an orchestra, it communicates the time of day to each of these molecular clocks. And this way, it is able to regulate bodily processes in sync with the time of day. For example, it causes your body temperature to increase in the morning and to decrease in the evening. And in the evening, when it's time to go to bed, it will also make you tired and sleepy. So spend as much as 30 minutes outside.

I am Joyce. I listened to a lecture talk about love and Compassion. The Yale President's first discussed love and compassion were creeds by which he lived and he emphasized the power of kindness in building a better world. He shared examples, like helping a stranger, listening to different opinions, and forgiving mistakes. In addition, He urged students to face challenges with understanding and respect for others. By choosing love, people can bring hope and make a real difference. The President reminded graduates that their choices shape the future and that empathy and care will lead to a more peaceful and just society.

I read an article on BBC talking about how Snow White--the Disney remake became 2025's most divisive film. In the article, the author shows us that the choice of actor is disputed by publication. The choice of actor in the film has been thought to outdated gender diversification and erroneous aesthetic standards. The remake of dwarfs made many people think this film is completely made for the minority. Conservatively media like the New York Post declared the film a financial failure in advance, while others questioned its artistic merit. And I think their comments really correct. In my opinion a good film should not be published to cater to political correctness. They just need service the public.

I listen to a TED talk about how to turn the tables on food waste. I learned that we throw away a huge amount of food every day – food that could feed many hungry people. It made me feel sad and surprised. The talk said wasting food is also bad for our planet. It uses water and land for nothing and makes harmful gases. But the good news is, we can change this! Simple things like planning meals, buying only what we need, and using leftovers can help a lot. I now understand that stopping food waste is important. I plan to try these ideas at home. We can all help!

As more people participated in the protest activity in Los Angeles and the scale grew larger, Trump commanded 2,000 National Guards to violently expel the objectors using weapons such as tear gas and bombs. The report also interviewed a protester whose view was that they did not want to see the people living here separated by ICE's people. So they participated in the protest demonstration, but the police drove them away with chili spray. The report also mentioned the location where the incident happened and Trump's statement on social media after the incident.

I just finished watching a video containing six counterintuitive but highly practical entrepreneurial thinking patterns shared by John Mullins. First, entrepreneurs should have "Yes we can" mindset which encourages entrepreneurs to embrace opportunities beyond their core competencies. Second, entrepreneurs prefer solving problems rather than focusing on product innovation only. Third, it can lead to significant success when entrepreneurs focus on a narrow target market. Fourth, prioritize cash flow and use it to drive innovation and growth. Fifth, borrow resources and establish an innovative cooperative relationship. Last, focus on execution instead of seeking permission.

Trump called this matter total reset of the previous sky high tax. According to the reporter's report, this change will significantly reduce the extremely high tariffs caused by the trade war. Because of the exetreme tariff before，the cargo volume of some ports in the United States has dropped sharply, and many ships have been stop sailing，which is almost equivalent to banning trade on both sides economically. Both countries hope that their contact can continue, so they held talks and consultations to solve this conflict. Before that, the Trump government set up a 34% tariff on China and warned China not to retaliate it, but China hit back, so the tariff war broke out to a level where the two countries had almost no trade.

On average, three Japanese people die every minute, but only 1.3 babies are born. That is to say, the population of Japan is decreasing by 1.7 people per minute. The current and future working population in Japan is too small to support the burden on the medical system. Japan has been paying attention to the issue of declining birth rates since 1980. However, in 2024, only 720,000 babies were born, a 5% decrease from 2023, and it is the ninth year of decline. However, Japan's performance in maintaining the sustained economic development of the country is worthy of reference and learning by other countries.

The most exciting part is when discussing the cultural aspects of anatomy. Because of the lack of medical technology in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, there were unavailable human bodies for medical research. At first, the surgeons chose executed prisoners, but later they turned to those who starved to death, the strong opposition from the poor and the violation of social ethics. Therefore, they eventually resorted to targeting their relatives and friends. However, things took a turn. Most doctors still had emotions towards their close ones and were unable to view the corpses objectively and calmly. Additionally, the demand for corpses increased, thus leading to the emergence of corpse trading as a business.

What impressed me most was that the talk emphasized the severity of not having social contact for a long time. This tells us about the inherent sociality of human beings. Our brain and body are the best functional connections to society. As an educator, Kupers offers a great explanation for this topic. Overall, this topic has taught me a lot and made me reflect on the value of social interaction in our lives. It made me understand that socializing is a basic need rather than a luxury. It shapes our brains, our happiness and our ability to think independently

However, some areas still exist some problem of warning systems such as unclear information, delayed transmission, misunderstanding and so on, which makes huge damage in living environment and personal safety. Therefore, experts suggest that using a wide range of clearer and simple language (such as face to face communication), providing specific action guidelines(such as just staying original or evacuation) are significant to improve the effectiveness of warnings. Also this article describes other countries’ severe flooding due to the climate changes and what they can do when the flooding appears. It emphasizes that although the flooding cannot be avoided, people can minimize the damage by trusting each other and trying the best to transmit warnings.

From this article, I learn some new words.

Pillar: a firm upright support for a superstructure

Drill: to fix something or bore something

 Plain: =clear

 Hazard: =risk, adventure

 Evacuate: =withdraw

 Disseminate: =spread

 Transmit: =send, transfer, launch

 Recipient: person who receive something

The stories are simple and fun, making it easy to understand. The vocabulary is basic and useful for everyday conversations. The episodes are short, making them manageable for learners. Peppa Pig uses a lot of repetition, which helps with remembering words. The visuals help explain what’s happening, even if you don’t catch every word. It’s a fun way to learn common phrases and expressions.

An interesting animated film that is famous for its sharp satire. Its expression is extremely natural and accurate. In addition, it can help audiences understand the British and American cultures(especially American culture). This is a simple way to maintain your English learning. Because its plot is humorous and the characters are adorable, unlike some animations which are very boring. Although some characters have accents or speak rapidly, the audience can first watch with subtitles, and then gradually progress to watching without subtitles. Finally, when we watch it, we can start from the new plot first because the previous storyline might have been expressed in an outdated manner.

That is the game I am looking forward to. I have been waiting for the sequel to the first Dying Light for ten years. Although it does not have any innovation in gameplay compared to the second generation, it is the story of Kyle Crane. Harran's legend has not ended, and he will begin his revenge in Castor Woods.

Over the past 13 years, Kyle Crane was captured alive by the GRE at midnight while demonized, taken to the Baron’s laboratory for experiments, and tortured until he lost the will to survive. The Baron’s research to create a controllable chimera always hit a dead end. So, when Aiden and Spike failed to rescue Crane, the Baron captured them both alive and orchestrated a revenge plot to rekindle Crane’s fighting spirit. He sent Olivia to play the good guy while he assumed the role of the villain, occasionally releasing chimeras to force Crane to voluntarily participate in 'field experiments' involving GSB injections. During this period, experiment subjects who escaped from the Baron joined Down Hall but were exiled by the sheriff. The exiles, led by Lydia, gathered in caves and, relying on the powerful individual known as the Starchild, successfully developed telepathy and managed to use mushrooms to delay the symptoms of infection. Subsequently, Olivia continuously encouraged Crane to actively hunt chimeras to strengthen himself to confront the Baron. Later, when Crane successfully recruited Down Hall and the exiles as allies against the Baron, Olivia betrayed him by leaking information to the Baron, allowing the Baron to always act one step ahead. Finally, when the Baron's chief scientist took advantage of a distraction to escape and collaborate with Lydia to develop an improved version of the infected’s mind control ability, Crane had a chance to turn the tables and defeat the Baron.

Regarding the "Herald Event", the manuscript known as "Propheticum Hereticus Tenebrae" (the origin of the name of the game) mentions "Comos" or "Tyrant Star" several times. It is rumored that Komos is a precursor, a harbinger of the invasion of darkness. It will be called "Black Sun" or "Black Flame Halo". This supernatural omen is represented by an unclean rune, most appropriately described as a bird's claw. The rune cannot be interpreted by a specific meaning, and so far no past interpretation of it has been found.

It is no coincidence that the Calisis sector is filled with a strange and recurring phenomenon: the "Ghost Sun" phenomenon. A huge "black sun" that matches the prophetic description will mysteriously appear from time to time – without a specific time interval – at different locations throughout the star sector.

Each appearance of Comos varies, but the pattern of his visits is usually like this: without warning, a ghostly star that appears to emit black flames and some kind of unknown and mysterious radiation materializes within a planetary system, and after a few days of maliciously shining, it also mysteriously disappears without a trace. Comos' visit was accompanied by psychic disturbances, geological upheaval, and social problems, including mass riots.

Most of the time, the "Ghost Sun" will overshadow the natural stars in the galaxy as if they have taken over it; And when the sun in the galaxy darkens, there is often a mass panic on the planets that surround it.

Happiness is very complicated topic. But Navar said that 'I always like the Socrates story, where he goes into the marketplace and they show him all these luxuries and fineries. He says how many things there are in this world that I do not want, and that is a form of freedom. So not wanting something is as good as having it'.

He also expressed that 'I don't want to tell anybody how to live their life. I would just say that, to the extent that you want to improve your quality of life, the easiest and best way to do that is to observe your own mind and your own thoughts and be a little, not necessarily critical. And then you will realize your ow loops and patterns. It's not overnight. It's not instantaneous.

Alexander Henderson (1831-1913) was a renowned landscape photographer of Scottish descent from Canada. He came from a wealthy Scottish family and initially worked as an accountant to satisfy his family's expectations. In 1855, he moved to Montreal, Canada, and began his photography career as an amateur. He formed a close friendship with photographer William Notman and collaborated with him in exploring photography techniques. In 1866, he gave up business and focused solely on landscape and scenic photography, excelling in capturing natural and cultural landscapes of Canada's wilderness, rivers, and railways. During the 1870s and 1880s, he traveled extensively across Canada and produced numerous classic works, winning international photography awards. He was also commissioned by the Canadian Pacific Railway Company to serve as a full-time photography manager, documenting the railway construction process for five years until he retired from the photography industry in 1897. A large collection of his glass negatives has been preserved to this day. His works are now housed in the National Archives of Canada and the McCord Museum of Canadian History, serving as important materials for Canadian photography and historical research.

The TV adaptation of "The Crow Murder Case" based on Anthony's original work follows a very Agatha Christie-style suspense plot. It is a very comfortable classic detective drama with a dual storyline of reality and fiction. The cases are intricately interwoven. The pace is steady and the atmosphere is sufficient. It is not overly scary or melodramatic. Due to the large number of characters, one needs to pay close attention. As a detective drama, it does not fall into the stereotype of male and female roles. Instead, it has created a calm and rational female protagonist named Susan Ryeland. When facing mysteries, she is mature, clear-headed, and well-controlled. What moves me the most is that when she discovers that the murderer of Alan was Charles, her long-time colleague and friend, she did not choose to cover up. From the beginning to the end, she was very clear about what she wanted and remained true to her inner principles.

World's Fastest Man vs. Robot!

This is a video about robots versus humans in seven competitions, from Mr.Beast. Firstly, the first challenge is making a speed comparison in flipping 3 cars and pull a bus down between a giant and a crab robot. Then the man wins thrillingly, even though the clumsy crab walks very slowly. After that, the second duel involves a former professional baseball player trying to hit a home run off the fastest pitching robot in the world, which only depends on a cannon. Obviously, the man wins easily. And the third is between a man who is claimed to be one of the most insanely accurate football kickers, and a humanoid robot whose legs are separated from its body, complete in target shooting. After a short clip of the man accurately kicking a bottle cap off, the game begins. However, after three kicks, the man actually can not even get the ball into the field goal. After the robot first wins, the next game is also about accuracy, this time in basketball. Undoubtedly, the game ends because of the robot’s 100% hit rate. Then the score is 2-2, and the fifth competition is a race. In fact, only the time gap is clearly manifested, and the winner must be the brave and crazy human. Unfortunately, the sixth game still focuses on accuracy; they should hit 3 targets using golf balls. It is not hard to predict that this is definitely the most predictable match, though the man gets the first point. Compared to the 100% hit rate of robots, it is difficult for humans to get even a second point. Finally, the last match is the 100-meter running. After the man defeats two humanoid robots, he has to face the last robot, which looks like a cheetah. Although the cheetah robot runs clearly faster than the two humanoid robots, the man is still one step ahead. So the competitions ended with humans winning 4-3 against robots.

The staff will teach them to identify the right buds, pick carefully, and work through each step of processing, from picking fresh leaves, pan-frying, rolling, sun-drying, and even steaming, so that they leave with tea they have made themselves. Zhang believe this kind of activity could help visitors take part in immersive experiences while also gaining an awareness of ecological protection. In 2022, China's traditional tea-making techniques were inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. The speaker compared language learning to video games and wanted to break through. The first is to take communication as the main task, not to struggle with grammar words. Second, we should be brave to try and make mistakes, face mistakes, and understand that failure is a necessary process on the road to upgrading. Third, have the courage to continue to open your mouth, so as to be encouraged to maintain the motivation to learn.

how to memorize vocabulary

Vocabulary size is important; it will decide how much you can understand. Many learners spent many hours memorizing it, but when they want to speak its blank in their mind. More is not always better; a smaller and high-quality set of words we can use is far more powerful. First, do not memorize the single word, try to memorize the chunk, which can help you use and make us sound natural. For example, do not memorize “responsibility”, memorize “take responsibility for”. Also, a good example sentence can help us to understand it. In addition, we have to actively recall, we need to see the word in three days and a week, and try to use it in daily life. Moreover, understanding prefixes, suffixes, and roots is helpful. We can make a vocabulary card that has a chunk, an example sentence, and a word family. It is really useful for learners to memorize. The most important thing is not to memorize too much per day, only 10 in a day. Memorizing the words sustainability is more important than memorizing a lot one time.
