The teacher uses four corners to assess their students by seeing which corner or "answer" they go to. If the teacher sees that the students are going all to the correct corner, the teacher can come to the conclusion that the students know the content. If the students are in all different corners, the teacher can see that the student's aren't very sure of the content.
