The first impression that made Kawasaki on me, is that he is able to gain people with one sentence and after that keep their attention all time. That´s great. Regarding to what he is talking about, I think even you follow the steps he propose to jump to the next curve is very-very difficult, not only to make a meaning and a mantra with it, but also to keep trying and trying and trying everyday when you will find on front of you contrary opinions and thinkings. So, even he sells the product really cheap, actually it is not.

Basically I agree with Mr Kawasaki ideas to success innovating, nevertheless, I feel they are necessary but not sufficient. There are many good innovative ideas over the world not succeding, sometimes because "the world" wasn't ready yet or because you weren't in the right place at the right moment. Would apple be a reality if Steve Jobs had been born in Libya as his biological father?

In the same way of my colleagues I liked the enthusiastic speech of Mr Kawasaki and watching it you feel that ifollowing the 10 steps you could get the success. However, is not so easy. Surely, if you follow the path explained you can get the success but, from my point of view, some important things are missing in this equation, such as: a disruptive idea, knowledge, investment, lucky, contacts, collaborators ...
I mean, is not an impossible objective, but based on the examples that he puts (Apple, ebay, google, youtube, ...) you can assume that will be quite difficult.
Besides, As Mr kawsaki told in the first point, to "make meaning" to your idea, of course, is a key point but to do it, but to start you must have a minimum economic support, otherwise, it would be a rather complicate task.

The first impression I got when I finished watching the video is that Mr. Kawasaky is a great communicator. I follow the line of comments already inserted, I think it is a very conceptual description of what innovation is. It passes over many details and does not go into the detail of each of the 10 points treated. On many occasions jumping to the next curve is very difficult, but there are already companies that have evolved over time, adapting to the moment and market demands. See for example HP Hewlett-Packard. It has been evolving its product and adapting in time since 1939.

Mr. Kawasaki talks about how we can innovate using 10 steps. I agree that the main objective of innovation is to change the world and turn it into something better. And you must think that if you want to do something different you have to do thinking in the next level; and always thinking how to keep improving to don´t block.

I know that these concepts are difficult to make real, but this doesn´t mean that it is impossible. If that were the case, for example computers would not exist today, if the opinion of Thomas Watson has been listened "I think there is a world market for maybe five computers".

In my opinion the key is to pay attention of what you really want to do and not to listen the negative opinions that have other people. Although that means time.

As some of my partners have told before, I think that Mr. Kawasaki is a great speaker, all the TED is brilliant and hilarious.

Apart from this, I would like to say that is fascinating to try to define the innovation or “the art of innovation" in 10 steps. In my opinion the key of the talk is point 3 “Jump to the next” if we think in apple, we could see that have fulfilled this point perfectly, they have been capable of jumping to the next step in several occasion, for example with the first iPhone, in my opinion they changed the way in which we watch the phones. Also I think that is very hard to find the “next curve” and how do you know when are you developing a product or creating a new product? I have been thinking in the case of the freezer and I think that it is awesome to create that kind of innovation. You have to be very clear about the need and if it is viable, in my opinion an important point that has been missed by Mr. Kawasaki is the feasibility study. It is very good to innovate, but it is necessary to do it with a previous study.

In this video Kawasaky is explaining us the most important steps for the innovation.
Between these steps there some of then I would like to comment.

Make meaning: He says make meaning first and then make money. Even if I agree with the idea this is the way it should be, in the real world you have to be able to do both and at the same time, otherwise is quite difficult to get funding to develop your project.

Jump curve: Sometimes to know which is the correct moment is not so easy, or even worse this is in the hands of the government or law, it doesn't depend only on what we do.. How long are we talking about electric motors,???? Who decide to stop the manufacturing of the normal motors and start with the electric motors...

Churn - Flexibility - Is quite clear that we have to adapt to what the clients want and expect, the world will not change for us, we have to adapt to it and also try to develop the world with new ideas and trying to make the things always better or in another way.

Linked to the mantra, it is important for us to describe ourselves for what we offer rather than what we do. The man gives a good example with telephone and internet. If telephone companies had just said that they make telephones, they would never be introducing internet as their products. Instead, if they say that they communicate people, then innovating would be much more easier since they would know better themselves and their scope.

I have the perception that Mr. Kawasaki insists continuously on trying to achieve the next curve, that in some way, he metaphorycally identifies what the innovation is. Innovation is not only achieving small performance improvings, but it is also to have an open mind in order to be able to challenge what is being done and the manner that is being done. He sais it is necessary to do not niche the company's mission, turn the fear of failures away, and be persistent on your own thoughts sharing to a team, and develop them once they are improved by the team.
