Hi Tita Maite, I'm so sorry for your loss. Kuya Melvin was everyone's Father and Friend. He and your family are a living example of what it truly means to be Ang Ligaya Ng Panginoon. You were there in every wake, service, and even party. In mission trips, outreach, and even rallies. Kuya Melvin served with gladness, always with a smile and never showed a sign of tiredness, despair, or lack of ability. He always showed how it is to love and support one another. He never had second thoughts about sharing, giving a talk, or being behind the registration table or food table. He was at the forefront of the welcoming committee and always greeted everyone with the warmest and most joyful smile, handshake, or side hug. We are here for you for anything you need. Please don't hesitate to call on us for help. We love you all.

That’s Kuya Melvin! Always ready to serve-selfless, loving, caring cheerful and joyful-truly a man for others.

The first to arrive, the last one to leave - always making sure everything is accounted for.

A man after God’s own heart.

We will always be grateful to God for we have been truly blessed to be under the care of Kuya Melvin and Maite while we were still in the South District of LNP.

Their practical wisdom, positive outlook in life and unconditional love without judgment has been their strength as pastoral leaders whether for singles, married couples, and even seniors.

Being true Christian witnesses, they have touched the lives of many, most especially their children-who now have their own families and serving in the community as well.

Vaya con Dios, Kuya Melvin🙏 The angels are rejoicing in Heaven to receive you! We imagine you worshipping God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength even more! Pray for us that we may all be as faithful and loving as you!

We love you!

- Raffy and Oyeen Dulalia, WSA

Melvin — I’ll always remember you as that jolly, confident, yet humble servant of the Lord whose presence brought smiles wherever you went. You had such a simple way of showing care — those surprise shoulder and back massages, not just for me but for anyone who looked tired or tense. That gentle gesture said more than words ever could.

And who could forget that unforgettable moment when you serenaded Fr. Herb with “Wooden Heart”, complete with the German lyrics, bringing laughter and warmth to everyone around. You truly had the spirit of joy in you — making others feel lighter, loved, and seen.

Melvin, I’ll miss your light, but I know your laughter now fills heaven’s air. Your kindness and joyful heart will remain etched forever in mine.

~ In Christ,

Arben & Armi

Though I had only occasional hi hello with Kuya Melvin in my 13 years in LNP, I have known him as the one who gives me communion in St Jerome Emiliani Parish way before I became LNP member. I did not know he is a member but in my mind I always say: “I like this man. He looks so holy and always wearing a smile after the mass!” That’s why am so glad when I saw him in a Sector Assembly and felt a connection with him despite him not knowing me.

I don't have a personal encounter with tito Melvin but i see him from afar. He has one of the "kindest" faces in the community. I also learned that he served as a district servant for a long time so i really thank him for giving his precious time to the community. Our loss is heaven's gain.

We are thankful that we got to know you, Tito, despite being “new” in the district. Thank you, tito Melvin, for always saying “Yes” to God.
