However, Native American tribes in the Wabanaki Confederacy, like Passamaquoddy, fought with the Americans because they sought further trade and mutual relationship with the patriots. As a result, the Passamaquoddy tribe aided the patriots by sending warriors to General George Washington with the hopes to aid the patriots to win the Revolutionary War.
