While student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom, I came across this website called 99 Math. This website is a great resource that quizzes students on their math facts. In the classroom, I advise students to use the multiplication and division quiz section but their are many other math related resources. Students can use this game independently and as a whole class. I have students use this website independently when they have finished all of their work during math time. Also, I have done whole class competitions with this website as well. The students love it and it helps them improve their math facts. I will be saving this website in my list of resources to use in my future classroom.

To take notes on students reading skills, I fill out this sheet for each student. While I am reading with a student, I make sure to take notes on how they are doing. I work on something specific with a student and record how they did. This helps me to keep track of each student. I organize these notes in a binder and I organize it by each student.

During student teaching, my relative gifted me this book. He is a retired educator. The book is called "The Teacher 50" by Baruti Kafele. This book has 50 questions that encourage teachers to reflect on their teaching. I have started reading it and it has helped me reflect on my teaching. Each chapter is centered around a different aspect of teaching. It has been a great way for me to daily reflect on my teaching. I highly recommend this book to any educator.

At UIS, I took several methods courses that have helped me gain mastery of elementary level content. The document above is a web quest that I created in my Methods of how to teach science course. In the modern classroom, technology such as iPads and computers are used. This assignment guides students in exploring a website on the solar system. In the classroom, I would pair this web quest with mini lesson on the solar system. This shows my mastery of how to create content for elementary age students.

In the document above is a lesson plan that I created during my methods courses. I used the 5E lesson plan format. Also, I added different ways that I could differentiate during the lesson. It is important to differentiate for different students needs in the classroom. In the future, I will always plan to differentiate for the different needs in my classroom. Overall, this lesson plan shows that I can plan and create lesson plans that fit all students needs.

My CT introduced me to the idea of having mystery readers in the classroom. We would invite parents in to read with the students or people from the community. In the image above, I brought in my fellow friend and musician Mckenna. She read a picture book to them and then played the violin for them. It is a great way to involve parents and community members. Also, it is a great way to inspire students.
