Students shouldn't have to come to campus randomly to get materials for different classes. We're hearing that transportation is an issue for many, many kids, and some parents don't want their kids on campus. But the Library and AVCOM can't be expected to distribute for all content areas, either - that puts us at even greater risk. If possible, everything should be photocopied at one time for students to pick up one time and not have to return repeatedly to campus. If the math department would have the entire math textbook copied at once, for example, then we wouldn't mind handing it out to students once. The conversation is understandable. The policies are there. However, it seems sometimes other schools hold the bar high when we seem to be willing to cave. Example: cell phones were not allowed out of a student backpack at Lincoln even before the district policy and yet we seemed to not be able to figure out a school-wide policy on even that!
Who is going to make sure the information to contact parents is accurate, how many times have you called a disconnected number?
