Tensions started to grow even more between Mexicans and American Settlers. The Mexicans believed ¨We cannot trust the Anglo-American colonists because they are continually demonstrating that they refuse to follow our laws, unless it is convenient for them.¨ As this man Rafael Antonio Manchola, a Tejano

(Mexican living in Texas) says that the Mexicans and Angelo-Americans are having different beliefs. Which will eventually lead to the Texas Revolution.

The Texas Revolution involved 2 different groups 1 of the being the Tejanos or the Mexicans and the other group was the Angelo-Americans or the American Settlers. The Texas Revolution spanned from around 1824-1836. But it was really in 1836. The Texas Revolution was happening because Mexico had gained independence from Spain and when they gained independence from Spain they also gained Texas. With this newly acquired land they allowed Americans to come in and settle there under a few conditions. The conditions were the new settlers agreed to become Mexican citizens and members of the Roman Catholic Church. Many American settlers agreed to these laws and conditions. But as time went on more and more settlers started to disagree with the laws so they decided to not follow them. As a result tensions grew between the 2 sides causing Texas to want there own independence creating the Texas Revolution.
