In wall-e it seemed very dramatic. Recycling helps in reducing energy and potentially useful materials from being wasted. I feel if we start right now by cleaning up and making it more public that we have to make a change, we can break off that path to the wall-e future. We can start by recycling, we educate people more on what can be recycled and the importance of it.

Cydney Seabolt Mar 27

I agree with Mary. We have been destroying our world for a very long time and i believe its too late to save the world now.

- I dont believe its too late, its never to late. We may not be able to clean all of it but we can clean enough of it to ensure it wont be a problem affecting our Earth.

James Taylor Mar 27

Like dawson said, you can't change the past but you CAN change the future, and make for a better future.

- I agree 100% we can make a change for our future and save Earth.

The world of Wall-E was created because people kept buying stuff that they didn't need and throwing away there old stuff.Eventually they ran out of space to put the stuff so they just left.We wont end up like Wall-E because we are starting to make a change before we get to that point. We have schools putting out recycling bins and many places have started to go green. Some people have stuff they don't need like Iphones but instead of them throwing away they have started to pass them down to other family members which eliminates the problem of them having to get thrown away. Also if they don't have family members to give it to they have created companies that take your old phones and make them new and reusable.

Cole Melville Mar 27

There are large businesses going green which are influencing other large businesses to do the same. In time this will act as a domino effect and eventually every business will be more environmentally friendly.
-This goes back to saying that humans can make a brighter future because they are making an effort to clean the earth and if consumers see that businesses are making a greater effort then so will they. Its all about someone taking the first step and the rest will fall into place and before we know it the world will be a better place.

Juan Morales-Caltzontzin Mar 27

Dawson is right , we as humans are very lazy and it's in our nature. But we also don't fear for our future and fear is what has kept us alive all these millenniums.
-If us as humans believe that if we don't start making the world a better place then we will end up like wall-e they will make a greater effort to help because they will be scared of the impact.

Everyday someone in the world is creating more waste than their actual share. People don’t think about our environment when they are continuing to throw things in the trash within weeks and months. Each day the trash accumulates and makes the environment worse. Some people have decided to play their part and help the environment by recycling. Not enough people are participating in recycling but since a small amount of people are then there is still a little hope for the future.

Kurt Chong

College kids are in fact leading the recycling evolution. 55% of americans who recycle are under the age of 30 according to my sources.

- According to what Kurt said, a lot of people that are in college are creating a recycling evolution. I believe this will influence other people to get involved.

Cole Melville

There are large businesses going green which are influencing other large businesses to do the same. In time this will act as a domino effect and eventually every business will be more environmentally friendly.

- The majority of time when businesses see other businesses participating in something and being successful at it they tend to do the same thing. I agree that more businesses after some time will help the environment.

According to majorwastedisposal.com ¨Each day the United States throws away enough trash to fill 63,000 garbage trucks (majorwastedisposal.com). At rates like these we could end up like the future depicted in Wall-E, but it´s not impossible to turn it around. There are so many big corporations that are jumping on the ¨Go green¨ bandwagon. Sooner or later all businesses will be eco friendly and will have products that are more safe for our environment. Some companies like Dasani have produced eco friendly water bottles that will bio degrade over time. According to David Gilson at motherjones.com ¨Microorganisms can convert biodegradable plastics into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass—with no nasty chemical leftovers¨(motherjones.com). With products like these our oceans can continue to heal and potentially thrive in a few decades down the road. With all the new ¨Green¨ inventions that are being made to better our environment I believe our future won´t end up like Wall-E´s.
