You demonstrated interest to play with water as you were washing a bottle on the sink. You were also touching the water. At times you were turning off and on the water faucet. To extend your water exploration, we can offer several loose items. We can provide her with different size cups, rubber duckies, sponges, and water bottles. Providing her different loose items can help her expand her exploration.
Cite: https://atcharlotteshouse.com/toy-sink-with-running-water/
Miriam Enriquez

As I watched you explore turning on and off the sink facet and running your hands through the water it made me think that you were curious about what you were discovering. You knew pushing the facet handle up water will come out and pushing it down will make it stop. To continue your water curiosity we can explore a water jug with a spout that you can turn on and off. I wonder if you will want to wash an item with the water from the water jug like you did in the sink. Will you stick your hand under the running water again or will you try something different like filling jars of water by turning the water jug on and off? I cant want to see what you do!
Amanda Conlon

You also explored by running your hands through the water. Having to understand your interests with the water faucet we will provide you with a different activity. It's called the scoop and transfer activity that also involves water. We will provide you many loose materials to use that you can choose from. Given a bucket of water and a empty bucket to transfer all the items. You'll be given different tools to be able to scoop the loose materials. This will allow you to explore with the water and explore with all the different materials. Exploring with water can be very fun!
Adriana Soria

The heart of this Childs play was seeing and feeling the water as it comes out of the water faucet. She knew in order to to reach her goal of seeing the water come out of the faucet she had to manipulate the handle in an up and down motion. This child is probably used to washing her hands so she has prior knowledge of how a sink and faucet works. Since you were curious of water and and how in order to make the water come out of faucet you have to move the handles we provided you with a sink and toys. I hope you have fun in your exploration of where and how water comes out of the faucet.

The heart of a child's play is crucial for their development of self and learning outcomes. I was fascinated by you playing in the water today! Toy I saw you fill up an empty soap bottle that we all wash our hands with. You then put the soap bottle aside to turn on and off the faucet. Your eyes opened wide, with a chuckle, and sticking out your tongue because you had just shut off the faucet. You were manipulating where the water was going and stopping it. Manipulating means being able to make it go where you want it. Turning the faucet on the water went down the drain and then you put your hands in the sink to let the water fall on your little fingers. Your play was exciting to watch and inspired me to add water, science, outdoor, bubbles, and other fun objects to your provocation water play. You used math and science by making the water turn off and on, also by filling and emptying the soap hand wash bottle. I want to continue see you open your eyes as wide as an owl! I would create a sensory water outdoor play where you could use your hands to feel and play to your heart's desire!

-Taylore Curtis

http://www.pinterest.com/pin/37717715618834014/

Hi Everyone! In the video leading up to the padlet, i believe that the heart of the child's play was her sense of wonder, and curiosity. I believe that she showed both of those things. The little girl in the module's video was very curious about how to stand on the stool and watch the way that the water flowed out of the faucet- and how it sounded as more came out. It also looked like she had a cup on her hand that helped show her curiosity and wonder, because she would fill the cup and pour it out, down what looked like a drain. I think that the provocation from pinterest that i chose, matches the child's expressed desire because in the picture there are a couple of cups and a spoon, in which a child can scoop up water, and watch as it pours back out into the silver pan. This can engage curiosity and let a child wonder how many ways he or she can collect water, and pour it out. This provocation will allow a child to build or improve on skills like confidence, creativity and independence.
-Jamie Scherr
*This Image was found on Pinterest under "Water Play Exploration Provocation"*

I chose this image of children playing in the trees and water as an example of provocation. They are playing on their terms without direction or a planned activity (child led), the children are smiling and expressing excitement, they are playing with multiple elements (water and earth-variables), and this is a very age appropriate activity; exploring nature, learning spatial and body awareness through play and building social skills.
-Erika Wright

Water Chalk The heart of a child's play is by having creativity and using their own imagination on paper or even storytelling without demonstration. As I watched her touch the water with her hands and turning the faucet on and off, I noticed that she liked the feel of water touching her fingers. I wonder if we can be more creative when touching the water. We can use water to wet our sidewalk chalk, making it look more creamy and vibrant when it hits the cement. We can create different opportunities with our water chalk masterpieces while feeling the chalk's texture and seeing the bright colors hit the ground. We can add more water to the chalk, making it creamier with water than without, along with using our hands, paper, leaves, pebbles from outside to paint on or trace on the sidewalk with our wet chalk to make a story. Making marvelous creations with water and chalk can encourage children to know their possibilities with something so simple.

He really enjoyed the water and poking the ice block. Like the little girl in the video grabbing at the water my Son had so much fun splashing in the water.

After watching the little girl play at the sink, I think this image fits well for a provocation. She is playing with a sense of curiosity! She knows that when she pushes the handle on the faucet up, the water comes out. When she pulls it down, the water stops. She is also aware of how to use the step stool with the assistance of the sink counter. The girl has a smile on her face as she turns on the faucet and watches the water flow out. The It is similar to the boy in the image but instead of a faucet, it is a cup! I think she would have a blast using a cup to fill up and dump out herself. She also climbs back up and down the step stool. The boy in the image is just using a tub so he would just stand up and bend down if he wanted to move around and then come back. This opportunity would help with her gross motor skills as she would also be bending at the knees like she does with the step stool.
https://busytoddler.com/2019/06/pom-pom-water-play/

She also knows that she needs to use soap to wash hands since we see her toying with the soap dispenser. The heart of the video for me is curiosity. When she discovers that every time she turns the faucet on, she sees water coming from the faucet, she is curious and her curiosity increases. She goes back to turning the faucet on and off several times and puts her hand to sense the water. She also sees that the water stops every time she turns the faucet off.

Looking at your curiosity with water I have provided you with a tub of water and some items like stones, leaves and twigs. I wonder how curious you will be to play with water and to see that some things sink and some float in the water. Also, I think that she knows when you push up the faucet it turns on the water, when you pull down it turns off the water. She gets down climbs back up to turn on the water a few more times. She is curious as to what the water can do. How she can make the water do things. My provocation would be to make primary colors into secondary colors by using water, food coloring and wax paper. This activity helps with fine motor skills, learning colors, being artistic and curious and making things fun. This will encourage her to learn her colors and to be creative and explore her curiousness in just one project. My provocation is a video on this idea that could be endless amounts of fun.

As I watched her turn the faucet on and off while holding her hands and the soup dispenser under the water flow, I noticed her excitement and pride in controlling the water. If I were to create an environment to expand this experience I would provide her with a number of materials for her to explore. I would provide something she could stop and start water flow, something like a water dispenser with a spout. This way she would be able to have a similar experience as she had in the bathroom. This dispenser would be on a flat surface with a troth or large container to collect the water flow. I would also provide things she could fill with water for the pouring experience. Some containers would have holes for an added level of fun.

https://i.pinimg.com/564x/94/d2/4d/94d24db6cfa06919238ba9c7c5a15513.jpg
