There are many acts that would point out a hero; one of these acts would be bravery. Someone who is brave is courageous and who enters danger to do what is right and good. Many people showed bravery during the attacks of 9/11. People on Flight 93, that was hijacked to hit the Capitol Building, made sure that didn’t happen; the hijackers got the plane as far as a small town in Pennsylvania, where all 44 passengers died. Captain John Jonas, who was with a group of finders for survivors in the South Tower of the World Trade Center, rescued a women named Josephine Harris, and by doing it, they survived; if they ran, they would have likely died from wreckage. A tour guide at the Pentagon gave medical treatment to injured people after a hijacked plane hit the Pentagon. The bravery shown during the acts of 9/11 was unreal acts of kindness.

Along with bravery there are also other important characteristics that a hero has to have including sacrifice. The definition of sacrifice is destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something or someone else. It also means something given up or lost. Many sacrifices are made everyday but on 9/11 people made a lot of sacrifices. People sacrificed their lives and time. An example of sacrifice is the day that the twin towers fell two retired Marines went to help and put on there gear to go and help. Another example of sacrifice is Rick Rescorla. He was told by his boss to keep everyone at there desk after the planes crashed and he did not listen he got 2,700 lives out that could have been killed. To keep them calm he sang songs while they evacuated. An example of sacrifice is when a 24 year old equities trader helped at least a dozen people. After he got them out he went back in with firefighters to save more. Sacrifices can be made big or small but on September 11, 2001 a lot of sacrifices were made.

Many hero's in 9/11 showed compassion for the victims of the tragedy. People who are compassionate show sympathy or concern for the misfortune of others. A Lot of people who weren’t victims of the attack show compassion for the victims of the attack. People made memorials to honor those who lost their lives in the attack. Another way people showed compassion for the victims of 9/11 was when the public had a museum built for their honor. A third way the public showed compassion for the victims of 9/11 was by honoring them and sending people to try and help them. In conclusion there were many acts of compassion from the horror of 9/11.

The first demonstration that the heroes made was bravery. Bravery is a courageous act or character. Bravery is also fearlessness and boldness. A 24-year-old equities trader helped at least a dozen people get out, and then he went back in with firefighters to save more. A group of strangers teamed up to take back United Flight 93, preventing the plane from killing untold numbers of people in the U.S. Capitol. Two former U.S. Marines put their uniforms back on and searched through rubble that could have collapsed at any moment. They found two survivors.

After all, there were very many acts of bravery, sacrifice, and compassion from heroes, such as marines, firefighters, and even strangers. 9/11 was a series of terrorist attacks on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. The terrorists attacked the two Twin Towers and the Pentagon, in New York City. Bravery was a strong and courageous act. It was needed inside the building and out. Sacrifice was one of the major things that was demonstrated on 9/11 by lots and lots a people. Compassion is to be concerned about someone or something. On 9/11 many people were concerned for the lives of everyone in the Twin Towers and in the Pentagon. 9/11 was a terrible day. Although many people died and were injured, all of the U.S came together to be brave, sacrifice themselves, and show compassion towards each other.
