Following Mike's comments I am hoping to found out more whether the flipped classroom would work ok in year 4. I am not sure if the students are disciplined enough nor mature enough to cope with this style. I am hoping to attend primary inservicing on this , this year.

Creating varied learning experiences for students that cater to their different learning needs, their abilities or perhaps their interests. It might mean giving students with lower ability, more scaffolded activities and those withhigher ability, more freedom. I think (once again, not entirely sure!) a version of tiered learning is a RAFT task....I've done this in my class before and it worked really well, although my explanation of the task could have done with some tweaking...the students enjoyed having some choice in their learning in regards to their interests.
