1. Functionalism is a theory that argues the constituents of a society function in a systematic way that is having connection and relationships between them to build a structure of equilibrium and stability on society. It claims that sociologists should interpret the relations.
It pursues a benefit of society as a whole.
2. Organic analogy is a mechanism that society can be compared to a human body(society - body, constituents - organs). By organs(the elements) being activated together, it operates a human body(society) stably.
Yes. In reality, it is clear that institutions and individuals have strong connection and it is inevitable to live without each other. For example, if there are no citizens, then a country would not exist, and the opposite works in the same way.
3. To maintain order and stability on society. Individuals should share the same values not to break the equilibrium.
The Broken windows theory can be a good example that shows what happens if the stability on society breaks down. If someone commit a minor crime such as breaking a window, more people would do the same and consequently lead to a social anomie.
4. Manifest functions have an overt objective of human activities.
For instance, people work to earn money and to make a living.
Latent functions are effects on human activities that are unexpected and unaware of.
Such as, people can achieve self-realisation and satisfaction by working.
5. Dysfunction is a concept that argues the effects on institutions or social elements contradictory to the original intentions and working in an undesirable way.
For example, giving prior opportunities for entering universities to the minor ethnics can cause a reverse discrimination on the others.
In the US, some major ethnic groups lose their positions because of the affirmative action even they have better marks than the minority.

1) Functionalism: is a theory that talks about society as a complex system whose various components work together to produce stability and that sociology should investigate their relationships.

2) Organic analogy is a comparison of the different factors in an operating society to the various parts of the body. It is claimed that different parts of society work together just like the different parts of a human body, which means that in order to study the function of society, we must look at all the components such as education and religion.

3) According to functionalism, moral consensus exists to maintain order and stability. A moral consensus is formed when people share and agree on the same values, which would then put society in equilibrium. An example could be political disagreement. Before the voting season, there is usually a moral consensus that is widely agreed upon as there is no big clash of opinions that surfaces. However, as seen many times before, opposing political parties often clash and argue during the election season, ruining any sense of peace.

4) Manifests functions are those known to and intended by the participants in a specific type of activity. For example, a rain dance is a ritual performed by the Hopi tribe in order to promote crop growth.
Latent functions are consequences of activities of which the participants are unaware. For example, the rain dance, in addition to being a ritual, also promotes team cohesion.

5) Dysfunction is centred around aspects of social behaviours that resists the natural order of things. For example, when social group disagrees with each other, it usually causes widespread social disruption

1.Functionalism holds that society is a complex system whose various parts work together to produce stabillty and that sociology should investigate their relationships.
2.It's like a cog in the wheel that drives the progress and movement of society It's like a cog in the wheel that drives the progress and movement of society
3.Functionalism emphasizes the importance of moral consensus in maintaining order and stability. Moral consensus exists when most people in a society share the same values. For instance, Durkheim argued that religious beliefs reaffirm people's adherence to core social values, thereby contributing to the maintenance of social cohesion.
4.Manifest functions are those known to, and intended by, the participants in a specifio type of social activity. Latent functions are consequences of that activity of which the participants are unaware. For instance, Merton examined the rain dance performed by the Hopi tribe of Arizona and New Mexico. The Hopi believe that this ceremony will bring the rain they need for their crops (a manifest function). But the rain dance, Merton argued, also has the effect of promoting group cohesion of Hopi society (its latent function). A major part of sociological explanations, according to Merton, consists in uncovering the latent functions of intentional social activities and institutions.
5.Looking for dysfunctional aspects of social behavior means focusing on features of social life that challenge the established order. It is wrong, for example, to think that religion is always functional and only contributes to social cohesion. When religious groups disagree with each other, the result can be major social conflict, causing widespread social disorder. As a result, wars often occurought between religious communities - as can be seen in the struggles between Protestants and Catholics in Europe or between Sunni and hia Muslims in the Middle East.
