I thought today's open discussion was very important, and I am honestly glad we were able to bring these questions of how we feel equity and liberation shows up in our work.

Today's session was awesome. I loved how it incorporated the voices of the full team to get to our definitions of equity and liberation. I also found the conversation about how we live up to these definitions to be so powerful and invigorating. I'm excited to see where pushes us as a team.

I think coming to a consensus as a team of what types of work (indicator research, network coaching, curriculum reimagination, community partnerships) we are doing vs. not doing that is driving us towards equity would be a valuable next step. From there, we could collectively decide from those things what we are not doing whether we feel it is important to take on that work as well, or whether that work necessary to build equity is something we don't have the capacity to do currently as an organization.

Even if liberation isn’t a key aspect of our work, it seems like it’s something we all want to learn about and support in some capacity because we understand it as complimentary. I think farther down the line, understanding how we can intersect with those doing that work feels important to us — whether it’s having someone from an organization focusing on that in our steering committee or advisory group, or inviting them for research and practice spotlights so we can learn about and amplify their work, etc.
