  • Smaller/thinner beak finches died due to their inability to eat the only food source left-Tribulus.
  • The drought that occurred on Daphne Major caused the Portulaca seeds to decrease in numbers because they are less resistant than and need more water than the Tribulus seeds. The environment changed, so the population of the finches also changed. They needed to have stronger beaks, which was possible to adaptations.
