Carl should not take the steroids and instead should just take check-ups or work out at the field. Proportionality is stated because the steroids may be good but the side effects will be bad in the future. He does not have full Consent and Autonomy of the possible side effects that may affect his body, health and future career in his sports.

No; firstly, based on the principle of Nonmaleficence, Carl will not only harm himself by taking the steroids, he could also hurt the reputation of the school, as well as his family and others around him. Another reason is that based on the principle of Proportionality, the evil effects greatly outnumber the positive, as all Carl will get from this is a good season, while risking his career, relationships, health and so much more.

Over the span of a large number of years, many people like Carl have a wanting to try steroids. Although, there are many benefits a person may gain from using steroids; one may also say that steoird could cause more harmful effects and damage to the person. In the following sentences,we will argue on the fact that through the bioethic principle known as nonmaleficence and its corresponding main supporting points that are the following: (1) the harmful effects of steroids on Adolescents(10-19)
,(2) the harmful effects of steroid use with injury or injury that had just recently been healed, (3) the mode of using steroids. That he shouldn't take steroids.

One important effect amongst many that steroids have on adolescents is the increase in hormone levels, which may result in growth difficulties like a persons bones will stop growing because his hormone levels are high and it signals his bones to slow down on growing. In addtion to this, it also affects a persons metabolism, and in this case it is his muscle metabolism. This could cause muscles to be stiffer and increases the chances of injuries. This stiffness is a sign Myopathies, which is a disease that pertains to the dysfunction of muscle fiber caused by a problem in the endocrine system. To add to this one may see that in the case it says that Carl has an injury. This means that since he just had an injury and recovered just a bit early , then he would have a higher chance of getting another more serious injury or injuries. Another effect of steroids is the fact it could give illnesses that may inhibit his ability to become a father; however, this may be rendered irrelevant information if he doesnt want, but until more information is given we'll just go with the fact he may want to become a father. These are all harmful effect taken because of the drug itself, but there is also a need to factor in the equiment used. Now, some may say it is highly unlikely that they use unsanitary needles or reuse it, but we can't elimate a possibility just because it is an improbability. Our final supporting evidence is that he may give into addiction because even though he said he'll do it only for a short time, we're no sure if he really will because some people can lie. It's also much better to take the safe route.

We believe that these details and facts support the statement that he shouldn't take them because of nonmaleficence.

In our opinion, Carl taking steroids, is an extreme no, no to us, since first of all, he would damage his already damaged body and he might also ruin the reputation of his school, family and himself. It would not only affect his physical properties but it might also tumble down with his mental properties since he might get addicted to it over time and might need to take it once every day so that it can help him accomplish the simplest tasks that are needed to be done. Thus, to summarize it all, we firmly disagree on Carl taking steroids.

Carl should not take steroids, even if it may help him in his journey as an athlete, it can also have some side effects like acne, blurred vision, difficulties in sleeping and many more. One of the principles of ethics is that it should do no harm, which is nonmaleficence and beneficence. We can also consider the principle of beneficence because it may be helpful and can get a higher possibility of winning as a team but it will not give and does not promote the most good because it has a side effect that could cause Carl a greater sickness than just losing a single game. Since the choices are Carl’s health or one single game, we can conclude that it does not promote the most good.
