“When Minds Lead, Cities Rise”

What Happened Baguio?!

Every day in Baguio City, we face problems that test our patience and our future. Traffic wastes our time, smoke makes the air dirty, and trash fills our streets. These problems can be solved if we use both discipline and technology.

Science and technology already help us. In Good Taste Restaurant, robots now serve food faster. At the Smart City Command Center, the MINERVA system watches disasters, traffic, and pollution to keep us safe. GPS and drones also help in planning, tourism, and water supply. These show that innovation is already part of our city.

But machines cannot solve everything. Cameras cannot stop accidents if drivers ignore rules. Sensors cannot clean the air if people keep polluting. Technology is only a tool, we must also be responsible.

We can really solve these issues if we have mind that craves for a change. For example, for traffic, follow road rules and try walking and biking. For smoke, plant more trees, use clean energy, and check vehicles for smoke. For trash, throw garbage properly, recycle, and join clean-up drives. Small actions by everyone will create a big change.

Science and technology should also protect our culture. Like in farming traditions in the Cordillera, new tools can support us without erasing who we are. True progress is keeping our identity while using modern knowledge.

The future of Baguio depends on us. If we use science and technology with discipline and care, we can build a city that is clean, safe, and better for all.

This is our call. This is our responsibility. This is our duty.
