A) In my opinion, the main idea of “I Love You Forever” is that no matter what happens, a mother’s love and bond with her child is stronger than anything. When the mother crawled into her child’s room every night and rocked him to sleep, no matter how old he was, it shows just how much she cares and is willing to do for her child. That action shows just how strongly she loves her son. The mother also drove across the city late at night to rock her adult son to sleep.

B) This story connects to my grandmother and father. When my father was young, my grandma would rock him to sleep every night while he was an infant. When he grew to a toddler, she would sing or read to him and cuddle him until he fell asleep. She would do this every night until my father was twelve. Just like the mother in the story, my grandmother showed my father just how much she loved him by taking the time each night to care for him until he fell asleep.

a)I think the main idea of I love you forever is love. I say this because the mom will always love her son even though he makes a lot of mistakes and makes bad discussions. The son was very rude to his grandmother swearing and knocking stuff off the shelf making her pick it up but at the end of the day she still chooses to love and forgive him. Eventually he grows up to be a grown man with a family and he sings the song his mother sang to him to his daughter. This shows how love and passion grows throughout a family and how love will never end.
b)

Other things I noticed how I know it is about is whole life is they only talk about terry fox and his family and what he did with his life al the good things how he is a strong willing person. On the last page, they talk about how his family was with him on the day of his death I think this also is about love because the family never stopped loving him.

3. A) I think the main idea of the book I will love you forever is a mothers Love for her children Because throughout the book the child makes a lot of mistakes. Even after the mom figures out all of the mistakes she still loves the child more than anything.I also think this is the main idea of the book because in the book the mother drives her car all the way to the other side of the city at midnight to rock her now fully grown son to sleep, other than the fact that a lot of people e think this is very unrealistic the author is just trying to show just how much the mother truly loves her son.

3.B) This idea connects to me because for example, if I forget anything when we get somewhere for “me” to have fun my mom even though being very mad she will go back and retrieve the item that I forgot and at the end of the day She Will still love me.

-E.W.

In my opinion, the main idea for “I Love You Forever” is to display the relationship between a mother and son. The story shows that no matter how the child behaves with her mother, she always loves him unconditionally. There are many examples in the story displaying the relationship between the mother and son. First example is when the son would “drive her crazy” by making a mess in the house but at the end of the day she still rocks her child at night singing “I Love You Forever.” The second example is when the boy turned nine and had terrible manners. He would never listen and used inappropriate words. That time his mother wanted to “sell him to the zoo”. Even after the frustration the son put her mother through, she rocked him at night singing until he fell asleep. Lastly the son turned into a teenager and was going through a weird phase in his life. The mother felt like she was “in a zoo” by the way her son behaved but again, at the end of the day she rocked him and sang “I Love You Forever”.

The main idea of the story relates a lot to my mother and brother. My brother is a very mischievous and annoying. He gets into a lot of trouble and doesn’t to my parents sometimes. But even after all the trouble he causes for my mother, she doesn’t stop loving him. My brother will sometimes play the tv on very loud even when my mom has a headache but my mom doesn’t get mad or yell at him. She ignores his behaviour and continues with whatever she is doing.

~D.P.

3a. The main idea that the story I Love You Forever portrays is that mothers will unconditionally love their children, no matter the child's behaviour and age. It shows that children develop the same love for their mothers in return and that they also love their children in the same way that their mothers did to them.

There are various references in the story that support my idea of what the main idea of the book is. First, it is evident that the mother loves her child though he isn't well behaved- she says of her child that he "never wanted to take a bath, and when grandma visited he always said bad words." This shows us that she loved him, unconditional of his behaviour. She also loves her child no matter how old he is- this is evident as she "opened his bedroom window, crawled across the floor, and looked up over the side of his bed." She loves him even though he is an adult and she still tries to see him.

The story also shows how sons will love their mothers too and they will love their own children, mimicking the behavior of their mother. "He picked her up and rocked her back and forth, back and forth,"-this shows how he loved his mother the same ways she loved him. "...his new baby daughter was sleeping. He picked her up in his arms and very slowly rocked her back and forth,"- this shows how he imitated his mother"s actions towards his own baby daughter.

3b. This idea is connected to me in a way because I also imitate the behaviour of my mother to a degree. We don't do the whole hugging thing but me and my mother also have actions that are similar. We both like reading, we both like talking, and we both enjoy watching TV shows. This has resulted in us watching TV together and us talking to each other. The rest of my family is not so keen on watching TV shows.

Part A
In my opinion, the main idea of “I love you forever” is a mother’s love for you never fades no matter how old you are or what you do. As you get older and do stupid things, your mom still loves you. Even when you are a teenager and stay out past curfew her love doesn’t decrease after every dumb thing you do. As the saying goes “I don’t like the way you are acting right now, but I still love you.” When you are 40 years old your mom will still love you the same as when you were born and in grade three. For example, in the book the mother says she feels like she is in a zoo. And that her kid is driving her crazy buy throwing things, and flushing watches down the toilet. But later that night she goes into his room and says she will love him forever. And rocks him while he sleeps. Another example that shows that her love never fades is, when her son turns 9 he becomes more rebellious. He doesn’t want to listen and is expanding his vocabulary to bad words. she might not like that but she doesn’t shun him out for changing. another example is when her son becomes a teenager. And starts to hang out with “strange” people who wear “strange” clothes and listen to “strange” music. She doesn’t stop loving him because they have different tastes in music. Or that he is wearing new and strange clothes. That doesn’t matter to her. That is her son and she will love him forever. My last example is, that when her son is a grown man she still loves him as much as when he was a baby. And rocked him to sleep just like when he was young. These are the reasons that make me believe that the main theme of “I love you forever” is a mother’s love never fades no matter how old you are or what you do.

Parts B
I can relate the main idea of the story to my mom and my brother. As my brother grew up him and my mom became very close. Because she was a single mother. My mom loved and still loves me and my brother so much. As my brother got older his attitudes changed and he started to act different. My mom still loved him the same and didn’t force him to change. Or say I wont love you anymore if you keep acting like this. But as my brother kept growing up he learned how much my mom loved him and how much she did for him. And while he grew up to learn this my mom waited patiently for him loving him all the same. Her love for him never changed even when he didn’t appreciate her.

A)	I think that the main idea for the short of “I Love You Forever” is Love. Because in the story it illustrates how the mother loves his son, and she will do anything to make sure that he’s alright. There is variety of references that supports my idea for what the main idea is. First, is when the mom crawling upstairs and picked her son’s up and rock him back and forth. Second, is when the mom did not put her angry emotions too much and not using physical things to teach her son a lesson. Finally the last one, is the time when the kid grow up and became a grown man, and her mother crawled upstairs and rock him back and forth. So that’s all the references that for me supports my own idea.

B)	This idea is probably connected to my parents. Who are the one who took care of me, they are the one who clothed me, to feed me and to educate me. This idea is connected, because it shows how parents loves their children no matter how old are they. And also giving back things that what their parents did to them to have a better life.

a) I chose I’ll love you forever. In my opinion, the main idea of I’ll love you forever is that a mother’s love is unconditional. The reason why I think this is because, firstly, through out the years the mother rocks her son and sings this song, “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.” Secondly, the child got into a lot of trouble as he was growing up but at the end of the day the mother forgave her son for what he did. Thirdly, when the son grew up and moved out the mother went to his house climbed in the window and rocked him and sung that song.

b) It connects to me because I to get in trouble but my mom still loves me no matter what. It’s also like my brother and sister they fight a lot and my mom still loves them, my brother gets in trouble a lot like that boy in the book as he his growing up, my mom still loves him like the mother in the book.

a) In my opinion, the main idea of the book “I Love You Forever” is the love of a mother never changes no matter how old their child is and no matter what they do. For example her son grows up into a two year old, people call this the terrible twos because this is the time where children like to explore, touch everything and ruin the house, her son did all those things and drove her crazy, but she still loves him and later that night tells him she will love him forever. Later on the book her son turns nine and becomes a teenager, a lot of major changes happen. Her son becomes rude, moody, wears weird clothes and listen to weird music, but at the end of the day she is still singing to him that she loves him. My very last example is when her son is now an adult and moves out. He lives across town, but she still drives to his house and still sings to him and tells him that she loves him.

b) This idea connects to me because when I and my siblings were younger I would play too rough, and would hurt them, my mom would get mad at me, but later those days she would apologize and tell me that though she gets mad at me she still loves me. As I got older I would be more picky with clothes and never wear the things she bought for me and I would get mad and say some mean things, though I said those mean things, she would still be nice to me. If she didn’t love she would’ve already put me up for adoption and given me away. I have done so many things that is not fun and though she rarely says it now these days, I know she love me because she still gives me my everyday needs.

a) I believe that the main idea of the book “I Love You Forever” is that no matter what age you are or what ever you do no matter how bad it is your mother will never stop loving you. For example, when her son turns two years old. He starts causing trouble around the house and driving his mom crazy. But at night even though her son drives her crazy, she still rocks him to bed. Another time is in the middle of the book when her son moves out with his wife and does not see his mom as often anymore. But this does not stop his mom from loving him as much. At the end of the day his mom still rocks him to sleep just like she used to do when he was growing up. The final thing that stood out to me is at the end of the book when his mom passed away. He begins to rock his new born baby daughter. This makes me happy because his mom loved and adored him his whole life. Now, he will love and adore his newborn baby just liked his mom loved him. Every night he will say to his daughter “I’ll love for forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.

b) This idea in the story relates to me because I know that whatever I do, whatever age I am, my mom will always love me and will never stop loving me. For example, one time I accidently sprayed my mom with a hose before she went to work for a really important meeting. At first, my mom was mad at me but now when we look back, we laugh together. Another example is that I know that my mom will love me no matter what career choice I make and no matter what I choose to do when I grow up. In conclusion, the main idea of this book is unconditional love between a mother and child.

The main idea of the short story I love you forever is to show the relationship between a mother and her child, it shows the compassionate and unconditional love a mother has for her child even when she is mad at him or her, she goes out of her way to show her love to her child, she tries to make him happy, she doesn’t let him or her know she or he is driving her crazy but at the end of the day, she still goes back and tells him how much she loves him even if he is asleep and cannot hear her. An example from the book is when the boy grows up to the age two and he starts to bring down the house, touch things and are very inquisitive about everything. At this age, they are called the terrible two’s because of how much trouble they cause, they want to put everything into their mouth, they want to draw on the walls ask questions, go into places, tear down everything and cry every time they want something. But at the end of the day, the mum goes to his to rock him to sleep, this happens in real life but not in the sense that the mum goes to the room to rock him necessary, it could be attending immediately to her child when he or she is hungry or needs something all this shows she still loves and cares for her child even when he drives her crazy. Another example from the book is when the boy grows into a teenager and he starts to wear strange clothes, move with strange friends and do strange things, even when she is mad at him and they fight she still loves her son by going into his room to rock him and sing to him how much she loves him.

b. I can relate to this with my mum because we fight a lot and we argue about almost everything from clothes, shoes, me always asking for money, we argue about every little thing because I don’t want to obey her rules and she also doesn’t want to do what I want, but at the end of the day she comes back and we talk things out, she explains why she said no to certain things and most times we reach an agreement and we become friends again then the next day we fight again but her reconciling and being friends for a few hours shows how much she loves me and cares for me. One time I got my mum mad before she travelled, I was not looking where I was going and I poured stew on her shirt she got mad, asked me to get her another shirt on time because she was traveling that morning but I went upstairs and forgot what she asked me to do by the time I remembered she was already late, her driver was not in the house yet by the time she got to the airport she missed her flight, she came back home fuming, I got the beating of my life that day but at night she came to me and apologised for what she did and she also taught me a lesson that I should not correct people when you are angry. In conclusion, the main idea of the story is the unconditional love a mother has for her son.

A) In my opinion the main idea of “I love you forever” is just how much a parent will go to show there love towards you. Every parent loves there child endlessly but in this story pacifically, the mother goes above and beyond the definition of love. Examples of this is when the mother just causally breaks into her 20 year-old sons house, witch is illegal but still did it just to sing a lala by and rock him while he slept . Another example is when the boy was just a little baby. He made messes and did bad things but the mother every night stopped what she was doing just to go upstairs and rock her baby to sleep, even though it was already asleep. Just these 2 examples give a clear explanation as to why the main idea of this story is love.

B). this story connects to me in a personal way because When my brother was just a little baby, my mom would do anything for him. She would rock him in her arms for hours and hours and basically neglect me. She would go beyond the limits of what a baby needed, but super high quality foods, premium formulas but she did it all in love. She wouldn’t even let me touch him because I was “ to clumsyyyy”. But overall that’s my personal connection.

a) The main idea of the story ‘I Love You Forever’ is that a mother’s love is unconditional and endless. I know this because in the story it shows how the mum loves her son no matter what. Examples of this is the song she sings to her son when he’s sleeping. Her son drives her crazy but she doesn’t care and still sings and rocks him. Another example is even though the boy grew up and moved across town and she still ends up driving to his house to see him. Last example is in the song the mum sings to her son when he is sleeping. “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always” meaning that she will love him endlessly. I also think that she means that nothing he can do can make her hate or dislike him. The other line “As long as I’m living my baby you’ll be” means whatever happens as long as she is living she will always be there for him to keep him safe and.

b) The mother in this story really reminds of my mum and my grandmother. My mu really represents the mum in the story because she always goes out of her way just to care for us and makes sure we’re safe. Even though we make her stressed and drive her crazy sometimes she still tells us she loves us and that shell always be there when we need her. The character also reminds me of my grandmother because even though she lives in a different province she still calls my mum to make sure she is okay. Just like the mother in the story driving to her sons house even though he lives across town.

A)	A) I believe the main idea of the story I Love You Forever is a parent’s love for their child. The love between parents and children is unconditional. This means no matter how old the child is or how the child is behaving, parents will love their child no matter what. Firstly, in the story, when the child is two, he starts behaving badly. He pulls all the books off the shelf, takes all the food out of the refrigerator, and flushes his moms watch down the toilet. Even though her son is behaving badly and driving his mom crazy, she still loves him. Secondly, when the boy turns nine, he never wanted to come for dinner and never wanted to take a bath. Worst of all when his grandparents would come and visit he would always say bad words. A lot of the time his mother wanted to sell him to a zoo. But, even when he would act like that his mother would still care about him and love him. Finally, when the son is all grown up and has a daughter of his own he cares and loves his daughter just like his mom loved him. In conclusion, parents love their children no matter what and forever.

My parents love me even when I don’t listen to them or I make a mistake. My parents are very kind and helpful and have supported me throughout my whole life. They are very understanding and always there if I need to talk to someone. I have a younger sister and an older sister and my parents love us all equally. It doesn’t matter how old me and my sisters are or if we make bad choices, my parents will love us forever.

3a) I think the main idea of the Terry Fox article is that determination can help you accomplish your goals. Terry Fox’s strength and bravery helped him power through the most difficult of times. For example, the article states that Terry didn’t give up until he came out on top. This means that Terry was determined and would work hard until he accomplished his goals. Another example was Terry’s courage to continue running despite the blisters and bleeding caused by his artificial leg. It must take great strength and determination to try to run across Canada especially with only one leg and in treacherous weather conditions. The final example is when Terry said, “I’ll fight. I promise I wont give up…” Despite having to battle another bout of cancer. Terry was still able to raise millions of dollars to help find a cure for cancer.

3b) This article connects to my friend. When I was ten my friend was diagnosed with stage four liver cancer. When my classmates and I found out about the news we thought that he wouldn’t survive. However, he managed to survive despite everyone’s thoughts. He was strong, brave and positive throughout his experience. I could never imagine going through something like that.

a) In the story “I Love You Forever” the main idea is to show that the love between a parent and their child is endless. Even when a child makes a mistake or does something to bother their parents they will always forgive you, care for you and love you. Initially in the story the son begins to misbehave, he pulls books off of the shelves and flushes his mother’s watch down the toilet. Although he is doing all of these things his mother forgives him and continues to nurture her son and rock him to sleep every night. When she rocks him she sings a lullaby that will soon be passed on from generation to generation. Later on in the story the son turns nine and all he wants to do is stay outside, never wanting to clean himself up and he would say inappropriate words when his grandmother was over. The son was acting crazy, but still the mother loved him and cared for him unconditionally. After getting through his teenage years where he was trying to figure out who he was he grew into an adult. At this point in time he had moved out of the house and was starting his own life. Yet at night the mother would drive across town climb through the window and sing the lullaby that she has been singing to him since he was a baby. When the mother gets sick, her son goes to see her, he rocks her in his arms just like she did to him and sings her lullaby. Showing that the son loved his mother just as much as she loved him. At the end of the story the son goes to see his daughter, he picks her up rocks her back and forth and sings the lullaby that was once sung to him. In conclusion, the love between a parent and their child is unconditional and will last a life time.

b) The mother in the story “I Love You Forever” reminds me of my relationship with my parents. My parents truly represent the mother in this story because the love they have for me is unconditional and they will do anything to make sure I am safe. Even when I have made a mistake or don’t listen they will forgive me. My parents are very supportive and will always be there when I need to talk to someone. I have two younger siblings and they love us all equally. Although we drive our parents crazy they still love us endlessly just like the mother in the story.

JB A slot \\ The main idea of the story "I Love You Forever" I think, is that moms will love their sons no matter what and sons will love their moms no matter what. For example in the story the boy was making a mess and running around the house and doing annoying stuff but his mom didn’t even get mad at him, and to prove she really loves him she rocks him and sings to him every night (which I think is kind of weird), and also when he was a grown man she still went and broke into his house just so she could rock him and sing to him. An example in the story when the sons shows his love to the mom was when the mom was really old and the son ended up going to her house and rocking her and singing to her.

The main idea of the story in the love of your mother will never end even if she’s old and about to pass away, I know this because through out the story it shows how much his mom loves even when she gets old. Some reference to the story is, When the baby is crying the mother holds him and sings “I’ll love you for ever I’ll like you forever as long as I am living my baby you’ll be”. Also, when her kid goes to bed she sneaks into his room and sees he is sleeping and then she holds him and sings the same song. The last one is when she is really old and sick she calls her son and tells him that he should come and see her she is getting old, so when the son the comes and sees her she tries to sing the song but she is too old so instead of her the son sings the song to her.

This story relates to basically everyone, but it relates to me, it relates me is because even though my mom might say I am annoying or even you drive me insane, but in seconds she’s like I love you to death.
