Bad- 'The theme is believing.' This is not a good theme statement as it only has one word instead of a sentence.

Good- 'failure, pain and determination brings motivation to succeed.' This is a better theme statement as it is not one word, it is not a definition or specific to a character. This is a statement that is universal.
