There were no real unification, that is till Napoleon went and invaded Italy, he created the Kingdom of Italy in the North. However when he was defeated Italy reverted back to independent states. This is how it was until the Revolutions of 1848 swept across Europe in Milan and Venice, the revolutionaries rose up against the Austrians. During Italy's unification, the three founding fathers were Mazzini, Cavour, and Garibaldi. In the beginning of the unification Italy's government was not stable enough. To stabilize the democracy, they fought to get more land around Italy. an Unification | 3 Minute History

Brazil was the largest and wealthiest colony belonging to Portugal. Don Pedro was the last emperor of Brazil and did many great things while in that position. Pedro turned a nation of chaos, to it being magnificent, and to later abolish slavery. In a sudden coup d'état he was removed from his position due to military purposes. He never fought back his removal so later spent the rest of his life in Cannes and Paris, as he later died.

Camillo Benso was born on August 10th 1810 and died on June 6th 1861. He was a Piedmontese statesman, a conservative who exploitation of international rivalries and of revolutionary movements brought about the unification of Italy. Camillo expanded Piedmont with annexation of Lombardy and Vienetia rather than unified Italy. Surrounding his family, Camillo heard the great issues of the day being discussed, the politics of France under the restored Bourbons, the revolt against Turkish repression in Greece, the liberal Decembrist rising in Russia in 1825. He showed his passion, in his usual powerful manner, with the liberals and with personalities like Benjamin Franklin and Santorre di Santarosa, the famous ill-fated leader of the 1821 revolution in Piedmont, who was also a distant relative.

Otto Von Bismarck was a very successful leader, lead very well. In 1849 he was elected to the Prussian Chamber of Deputies and moved his family to Berlin. In 1859 Bismarck was sent to Russia as Prussian ambassador to the court of Napoleon III. A quick successful war against Denmark left the fate of Schleswig and Holstein up to Bismarck and the Austrians. He had achieved one of his major goals, getting a large part of their middle class to see the Prussian monarchy as their buddy's.
