Workcamp Season 2025 is coming!

If you have ever wondered what a workcamp is and if you can join one, this post is for you!

• Who can apply? 

  Our workcamps are open to everyone. Most of our workcamps are open to people aged 18 or above, with no upper age limit, although, in some cases people below 18 can also participate. Some workcamps even welcome families. We always strive as much as possible to organise workcamps that are safe, accessible and open to all people. 

• Where are the workcamps?

  SCI works with branches and partners all over the world, and you can find workcamps in the countries where we have an SCI organisation. Contact the SCI organisation in your country of residence to find out about any pre-departure training they offer!

• Workcamp Themes

  Our workcamps tackle a variety of topics

  • Environment (You can participate in environmental conservation efforts, support the work of eco-farmers, caring for animals, raising awareness about climate change and more!)

  • Children & Youth (You can choose projects that give cultural and learning opportunities to children from underserved communities)

  • Culture and heritage (Artistic expression, community festivals, preservation and restoration of historical sites, are all vehicles for more understanding between cultures, peace education and self-expression)

  • Peace (You can work in projects that promote non-violence as a principle and method)

  • Social Solidarity (you will volunteer with marginalised groups such as migrants, people with disabilities and people who struggle with addiction, thus contributing to positive social change and justice.)

• How does it work?

  Participating is easy: you apply on our website https://workcamps.sci.ngo/, pay a small fee and cover your travel costs, and the rest is provided! The SCI organisation in your country will support you along the way.
